Another too good to be true?

Seller has 0 feedback.

Seller does not want to use PayPal, so your money is at risk.

Interesting.

Yikes! Greed vs Fear!

Should I risk hundreds of dollars (or could be more than one thousand dollars) by paying with personal check? The seller does not even have a feedback! I really want to buy it. BUT, I am leaning towards passing on this one.

He's using photos from two different FOV King Tigers. One is the first release (no turret number) and the other photos are the 2nd release (Peiper, #008).

Interesting.... :? The e-mail he gave for a contact breaks down to Larry at H.& H. Bail Enforcement.net, a legit company from Virginia. That industry is scary to begin with. :!:

He doesn’t have a choice, he as to accept PayPal. EBay won’t allow that. He can accept other ways of payment as well but he must take PayPal.

Lol, that is a bit scary. I guess even hard ass bail bondsmen are allowed to sell their scale military collection. Funny though, it has a bit of a different feeling coming from someone like that.

I would think a bail bondsman would have a camera to take photos of a very expensive model. The fact that he's using photos from two different FOV King Tigers doesn't look good.

It looks like the first image is a stock photo of some kind. Maybe it’s from a website that promoted or sold it at one time. The others appear to be the same and are probably the actual model he’s selling. It doesn’t appear to be scaring people off since it has 6 bids right now. If I were interested in it I would bid even though he has no feedback. You still have the option to use PayPal even though he prefers money order. You would have eBay and PayPal protection that way. He can’t force you to use a money order on it. It may not reach his reserve anyway.

I asked the seller if the pics are of the actual tank in the auction. If he never posts my question or answers me, that in itself is another nail in this auction's coffin. Up to $202 with 6 days left.

Gonna be serious money with no pics of what is for sale? Not for this ole bear.

OK, I see now. I though just the first one was in question. You guys are right to be suspicious. I doubt the bidders realize that he isn’t using actual photos of his item. Unfortunately there is no way to warn them unless he posts the TTT’s question to the auction.

Its obviously a fraud. He is just hoping some schmuck will send him a money order and he can disappear. Ebay would have caught him and ended the auction but he put "$order" instead of "money order" another sign he is a con. He knows ebay's policy and will red flag his listing. (hes done this before) A lot of these con guys will jump from market to market so they don't get caught. He may have jumped into the "tank world" and looked up the highest dollar amount any one item is selling for and went online and found pics of it. But hes not an expert and put contradicting pics. The expert con will do more research. I saw one years ago that had claimed he had an Iami Elephant, if you guys dont know it was the only 1/16 Elephant in existence before Hooben's and ran in the thousands.

I wont get into it but if one of you wants, just report it to ebay, when they see "$order" they will remove it

The seller responded to me. Maybe cons have a lot of time on their hands.

"Yes they are stock pictures. The tank up
For bid is the same tank. The tank is packed into
The wooden transport crate that it came in.
Thank you for your question."

You can gamble on this, I'd love one but I'll skip this deal.

It is not really the 0 feedback, everybody has to start at 0, but this auction has a few other red flags for me.

On 12/11/12, the King Tiger (the subject of this thread) was sold on Ebay. It's interesting that as of 12/26/12, the seller still did NOT get a positive feedback for King Tiger. His rating is still zero.
