Needing to make room and finances needed for sending my daughter to school. Hate to let it go. Very pretty scheme. It's on ebay if anyone was interested.
Thanks

Very nice F-14. Looks like it is getting good activity already.

Would have got lots more activity if it had not got pulled off. Nice scheme.

Maybe so. I sold it to Jay (JOC) he was on the USS America in 1992 when he retired and was familiar with that exact Tomcat. He will definitely appreciate it much more than I could have.

I think for my next scheme I will do VF-24 Renegades CO bird from the 1994 NAS Miramar Airshow. It's the same block type build as the Starfighters I did. That will require removing all the ECM bumps everywhere but leaving the NACA gun vents like they are and then altering the sidewinder launch rails to backdate them to early 90's.

My dream 1/18 Tomcat would to be able to do one of the gull gray over white 70's schemes accurately. Everything is in place except for those NACA gun vents. Filling them in and redoing them to the standard vents that had the "grill" look is mighty difficult. The wheels are correct for 1970's, the cockpit, the antennas aren't (but they can be sanded down), and the fact that there's no stiffener plates on the tops of the vertical stabs make it a slam dunk...minus the vents to do early schemes.

These earlier 90's to mid 90's conversions aren't too bad. Just some ECM bump removal and reshaping the launch rails and add stiffener plates (McCaulk is doing a great job on his VF-103 F-14B) to the vertical stabs and you're in business.

Great pick up for JOC. Especially so, as he worked with this plane. :D

And a nice gesture by you, Black Lion VF-213.
