1/18 cobra heli and 1/32nd stuff?

Post by 812boys » Thu Apr 15, 2010 8:30 am

Hey guys I am about to put one of these on ebay after this weekend and wanted to know about how much it is worth? I just picked it up for retail price from a local guy. So don't have a lot in it but can not find any information on it or on ebay. I had thought I had found some on here back awhile but cant seem to locate it now lol. If it sells for a good price I will be listing more 1/18th and 1/32nd scale stuff as he has a few more 1/18th scale planes I have bought most though. He only wants 39.99 plus tax for them. He also has a lot of 1/32 scale stuff for $11 plus taxes like panthers and stuff like that. It is all mostly 21st century and motorworks so all 21st century. And it is all also in the boxes but some are in rough shape. I will post pictures when I get back from my trip this weekend. Any info you guys have would be great I would give you guys first dibs on the stuff but I know I have not been here for the 6 months yet and do not want to cause any problems. I think I still have about a month to go. I hate to sell the stuff instead of keeping it but I need the money with my back all messed up I have been off work for the past year. And plan on spending some of the cash I get at my new Fav. place smalljoes I can not stay off of his website.

Thanks for any help,
Nathan :D

Put it on E-Bay for what you paid for it and let the market determine what it goes for..... Value is relative.

you may want to wait a bit. Large numbers of sellers are reporting a huge downturn in sales, fixed price and auction alike. The reasons are not clear but lots of items are not selling anywhere near what they used to just a few weeks ago.

It may be some kind of unannounced technical gliche, or just the massive amount of new listings diluting everything. If you're not in a rush i'd wait a couple of months and see if things on ebay improve.

Failing that i'd stick high, starting bids on them, to prevent the chance of getting burned.

That is the truth in people are not buying these things anymore at high prices. I could not even sell the entire ground collection and all of the figures for both the axis and allied 21C and BBI WWII arena that is out for $225.00 per lot. Yet, it seems that many will pay up to $80 or more for 1 tank that I already had in the lot. They will pay $80 for a 21C Kubelwagen that I also had in the lot. Strange. Splitting them up is the best bet I suppose, but adding a high starting bid may not even do the trick. Good Luck.

There aren't any Cobra copters up at ebay right now, or at least none that I can see, but they always seem to be pretty hot items when they do come up, and I wouldn't be surprised at all to see a NIB example go for $150+ even under the current conditions.

Hey yeah I just saw the other bird on there at this time but oh well. The reason I put a reserve price on it is because of hearing ebay not doing so well. If it doesn't go for that much I might just keep it. I have been fighting not to open it for the past week anyway lol.

Never put a reserve on an item. It just frustrates people. Put the thing up for the lowest price you want for it next time. Trust me, people tend to ignore reserve auctions.

yep,
no one looks at a reserve auction - pretty soon buy it now auctions will be treated the same way

Yeah but everyone is different a reserve price never really bothers me when I am looking what I tend to stay away from are the people who already want way to much for stuff. Also as soon as my pictures upload here in a min I will be posting pictures of the other 1/18th and 1/32nd and smaller stuff I plan to list on ebay in the near future If you guys see anything in the 1/32nd stuff that is worth anything let me know I don't really collect that much of it I tend to stay with 1/18th besides models that my dad built before he passed away. Once again thank you very much for all of your input and I will use it on future auctions for most of the stuff I am paying retail or less for it. With sales tax the 1/18th comes out to 42.63 and most of the 1/32nd are $12 or less. I am also thinking about dipping into my stuff as i need the room. To store ww2 gear and all of my dads stuff. Once again thank you all for your help you are all a bunch of nice guys here and have really made me feel like part of the family since I joined.

Take Care,
Nathan

Cobra is no longer for sale thanks to everyone who was interested in it. But it has been sold for a lot more than what I paid for it. I will be listing more or open to selling them on here. If anyone is interested in them just give me a price.

Sorry but if it wouldn't have sold I was still going to offer it to you. The only bad thing is I have still not sold anything on ebay yet lol. I do think me putting a reserve on it scared away a lot of bidders but for the life of me I could not figure out how to take it off today but now I am glad I didn't I am thinking about putting a checker tail p-47 and the 1st release p-38 on E-bay or selling them on here. they are out of the box. I also have two stuka's A5-IL and A5-CH they are all loose. Without boxes. Once again sorry I couldn't help you out Saberfan. I am wanting to get a good name on here. If there is anything else you want just ask. I may unload of some of my guys too I think I have about 400 of them I have been collecting since about 2005 and have been buying everything I see. Now I have two kids a broke back and out of work so I have to do something.
