I am in the process of building an extremely large Axis and Allies game set
The rule-set will either be the anniversary edition or the latest re-release of the original with expanded rules (destroyers ect)
I might wait and see what this new AA 1942 version is all about
to be released soon
I plan to use a very large gameboard. The entire board with have a diorama style surface with a space having terrain features similar to that region without impeding the placement of armies (ie: Alps with have large mountains with flat areas to put stacks but the zones should all be large enough to have several significant terrain styles present such as rivers, forests hills and mountains represented
i have not worked out the map's scale yet (maybe 8x12 or 16 on thick oak or other hardwood) but have settled on some of the unit scales.
Now this is where you come in handy, how many of those 1:72 armor units did you buy and later regret because it was an impulse and now find you collect 1:18 or 1:32 and really could care less if you 1:72 tanks went away?
I need your 1:72 tanks (dragon armor, 21st Century, Forces of Valor ect) even the men and cannons (yes I need 1:72 arty and AAA) that may have come with them as in the recent set released by a FOV at target & TRU
I am NOT worried about what armor you offer as long as it is 1:72 and has a diecast hull. I am planning on using a wide swath or units and version to represent each nation. Right now I have several 1:72 units for Germany (this doesn't mean that I won't take more of the same) a pz IIIn and Pz IVc another PzIII and an elefant. I would love to get any armor such as king tiger, tiger , panther, pz IIc, pz 38t, Hummels, Bisons, Stugs, jagdtiger-pather-panzers......as long as it fought in the war, i can use it. Same goes for any other country (I have a FoV churchill so far for UK)
also, don't forget 1:72nd model kits you may have. Dragon makes a 1:72 model kit line with a diecast hull, i found 2 the other day, early and late panthers
I need your 1/144 scale planes. I see that bad cat is having a really good sale on em. Let me know what you guys have
I need advice on ship scales, I want to use waterline versions. I am planning on ocean squares being Woodland Scenics "water and water effects" with texture being 2d to avoid disruption of placing game pieces flat on the surface
