What’s with the wait till the funds clear his checking account all about? I deal with someone on another board all the time for parts for my old Supra and he does the same thing. Its not to protect against chargeback’s is it? A chargeback can still be made even if the PayPal funds are empty.

The seller could accomplish the same if he transfered the same day he shipped (parcel post as his listing reads). Maybe he is not trusting of new technology

If you wait until the funds are out of your Paypal account to send the item and a chargeback happens Paypal will freeze your account and give a negative balance but will not get the money because of a zero balance.

If you send out the item before the money is cleared from the account and a chargeback happens, Paypal will freeze your account and take the money owed out of your account.

I learned this the hard way...

Don't ever link a bank account to paypal for payments and always keep your Paypal account at a zero balance...in other words always transfer the money out right away.
