I have some figures and accessories I don't know what to do with - I no longer need them, I've posted for sale or trade, had no interest. 25th anniversary GI Joes, 1/18 customs, 1/72 or smaller diorama display case, Hasbro 1/12 (6 inch) WWII Captain America, etc etc. They are not packaged, so can't be donated. Before they go into the junk box (or even the trash), does anyone have any ideas on how these can't go to waste?

Check your area to see if you have a TOYS for TOTS programs. These are sponsored by usually local television stations and run by the US Marines in each market. A great program, they give all kinds of toys to very needy kids. Unfortunately, every year I see the bins at companies and schools and the most common types of toys in them are for girls ages infant to 7 year olds and for boys roughly infant to 12 year olds. The older boys and teenagers are missing out. I bet they would love stuff like this. The Marines would be proud to see toys like ours in these bins.

Now those toys for tots places (including the USMC) only want new toys in original unopened packaging.

You could give them away to a local thrift shop.

Don't you know anyone with a young boy? Just about any boy 7-12 would be happy to take the figures off your hands. You could also list your items in lots on eBay and as ltcbj there are always thrift shops. If you belong to a church you could always check and see if they have charity sales and save them to donate whenever they have one.

Give it to a church even if you aren't a member.

Give them to the homeless who don't have any toys and don't have an address at which to receive a government bailout check.
