Judging from the write-up in the auction, is this the same guy who made all the errors with the "Jagdpanther" recently or is this guy legit?

He got the filled in cockpit wrong. It has a bulge out front. For aerodynamics or something. But it does. It's actually one of the first damn things I noticed about the Z.

Holy hell that tail is ugly... :(

Yes, it is the same guy...

He also still has all four main landing gear. The two inboard ones should be removed.

Are you sure about the gear? Everything I find on the subject shows 4 gear. Granted, the thing apparently never went beyond paper.

Of course, there are issues with the model besides the gear.

The gear is correct. But there are a lot of other issues.

It's like a trainwreck, I can't stop looking at it. It doesn't help that it's a Zwilling. They always fascinated me.

He's got one bid for $499 so far.

I messaged him and asked for larger pictures of the seams and body contact points. He said he couldn’t do this since he had already packaged it up. He then told me to blow the pictures up in some photo editing software.

I would never pay that much for something that I can’t clearly identify or inspect for issues. When will people learn that a good sale is all about the photos? Still, it looks as if there’s one gambler out there. That’s just a lot of money to spend on something like this without clear evidence of the craftsmanship. It’s like buying an antique car on the net, getting it home and finding Bondo everyplace. :?

i'm surprised someone bid on this model at that price. Maybe a shill? Whatever, i won't be entering the fray.

Back from hiatus.
This thing is in fact a trainwreck to say the least. Ok for a "toyish" example but I'd be willing to pay about $50 for it at the most. Better yet just make it myself, correctly. One thing is for sure, his "statements" about himself and his "work"...don't exactly coincide.

If you're gonna toot your own horn the workmanship and attention to detail need to follow suit, imo.

looks like someone actually bought it. Winning bidder has positive feedback from seller......unless it's still a shill and it gets relisted in a few days as 'another one' he's made.

Hard to believe someone would pay $500 for that.

Out of 754 views only one person bid on it - and they did so TWICE and on different days.

That positively reeks of deceit on the seller's part. What is to stop one from bidding on their own auction under a different name in order to artificially drive up the "demand" for his "awesome" model?

Nothing that I can see. At least he didn't sucker anyone into bidding over the start price.

well if he did bid on his own plane then he cost himself about $12 in ebay fees for his trouble.

Yes, a lot of views but seemingly only one bidder. Maybe the same shill he's used before because it's not the first time he left positive feedback for that winner.

If it was a shill bid then it cost him a little.

Assuming he hosted his own pictures and just did a straight auction with no frills it cost him $3.00 to list it.

However the final value fees would be $18+ for selling at that price.

So at the least he is out $20+ to make it look like someone wanted it. I would be interested to know how many watchers he had.

Let's see how long it takes for this to show back up.

You know I commend him on his choice of planes to do, but geez get it right if you're going to charge a mint for it. I still say it appears to be a nice looking $50 toy... but not no $500 collector piece made by a "pro"..

At least the camo is different this time?

What I wanted to know is who he is...because if his work(s) was really published in FSM magazine, then he would not mind people knowing his name.

Well guys he just bought two DAK figures from me a few days ago on ebay.

Jon Newsom.....

All I can say for sure is that he pays fast.

Well I just did a search in the Fine Scale Mag dating back to 1986 nothing found. He may have been seen in the model section submitted by readers . I don't know . But if he was a big contributor he would of popped up. :?
