Another custom on e-bay. Item number 150232319952. Again if somebody can work this out to click on the auction would be nice. They put another 1/32 scale barrel with a panzer muzzel brake on a AT Me- 262. What the ...He also has a Dak yellow with green camo wiggles on it. There were only 2 of these made and both of them were get 'em out quick paints. That is no paint with the panel lines taped . Kind of like taped sheet rock. The bid is up tp $600 !!! Oh my. I guess here is the proof . Put something out there in the 1/18 custom and people will gobbel it up no matter how historicly it AINT.

I can't tell from the pics if those squiggly lines for the camo pattern are airbrushed or hand painted...?? They sorta look hand painted, but I dont know.

The gun barrel looks like it may have come from a 1:32 scale Panther or Pz. IV maybe...?? Again, hard to tell.

I'm not an expert on the 262 - what do you mean by "historically it ain't?" I'm guessing you mean the paint, as the photos of the two known real birds I've seen don't seem to match the one on ebay.

No problem, any time. I can understand why the Germans only made two of these things... the recoil from a 50mm cannon must have been a terrific strain on the airframe, and probably required extra reinforcement, not to mention the tremendous weight of the gun, it's mount, and the ammo, airplanes tend to be very fussy about weight and balance, and this bird must have been extremely nose heavy.

I have this unbuilt in an old 1/72 Dragon or MPM kit, don't remember which, could even be another company.
Yep, it does pass the touch test (it was real). The scheme, of course, is conjecture, as pretty much all 'luft 46 stuff will be.
Personally, given my experience with the P-51c custom that came from ebay, I no longer consider customs that I haven't seen in person.
And why, since 21c and Admiral seem to have a problem with custom's for sale, have they not jumped all over this!! Tho' I'm glad they haven't.

They put a 7.5cm Pak on a Ju-88 for tank busting IIRC, The USAAF put a 75mm M3 cannon in a B25 for anti-shipping in the PTO The Hs-129 also had a mark packing bigger than 30mm, but I don't remember how big they tested.
then the 5cm was for sniping of heavy bombers(Dicke Autos) not ground attack.
since the 11oz of explosive in a reg. 3cm cannon shot would do some mighty fine damage to a plane..I'm sure a hit from a 5cm shot would give the pilot something to worry about.

I agree,
the landing gear is all wrong that big gun meant that the nose wheel had to be reconstructed and the nose wheel swivelled 90 degrees to lay horizontally in the bay under the the gun when fully retracted. The gun bay doors seem to be wrong also.

This thing is up to $718. 2 guys are going at it tit for tat. They both have over 100 on there feed back. They should know by now this is not how you bid on e-bay. So they must be going at it to drive up the price. One of the guys has 8% 0f all his wins with the seller. The other guys has 27 % with the seller. HMMMMMM......

Could be a case of shill bidding.... but that's a hard thing to prove, these cases generally involve one legit bidder though, and one shill bidder to drive up the price. It really wouldn't make any sense to have two shill bidders going at it, unless there was a third participant who was a legit bidder. I once sold a coin set on ebay for nearly $500, and the buyer accused me of using a shill bidder... told me he intended to ask ebay to "investigate", I told him to go for it, as I had nothing to hide and no shill bidiing was involved. He eventually retracted his "claim" and paid, but it's just another example of the many pitfalls of ebay.

hm.....something's fishy here. Not a bad looking custom but hardly worth over $150.
If one bidder is a shill then it's pretty gutsy shill bidding. Once it got over $300 i'd be afraid to place another shill bid for fear the real bidder wouldn't come back and i was out a bunch of money.
But this makes no sense at all...why would anyone pay this much for that custom?
Plus, the way it's listed, so general and vague, it wouldn't have even caught my eye until the price got so high..
btw the muzzle brake is totally wrong too..

I suspect that if one or more is a shill bidder (and at that kind of price, it sounds really likely), the legit buyer will get a second chance offer when the winner drops out. Or possbly when the top two bidders drop out and the claim can be made "well, it went for over $700, but the top bidders screwed me over so I'll let you have it for $350" I have seen (and lost) a few auctions where this seemed to be the case.

hm....interesting scam.
btw this plane was not intended to be a tank buster, the 50mm was for use against bombers....some Me-410's went into combat with the very same gun mounted.

Over $800.00 NOW! Is this the record for the most paid for an XD custom? Those two must be out of their minds.
