What to do with something no one wants? Input asked

I have a Highway 61 diecast, 1940 firetruck, 1:16 scale, paint and insignia in RAF blue, that I've been trying to trade or sell for over two months and I'm getting virtually no interest. Posted here twice with no replies; on e-bay once with no bids, now it's back on e-bay again with one bid of .99. Whoop-ee.

What's your input on what I should do with this? They were hard to find and somewhat expensive when were first produced; but for some reason no one seems to want one now. Should I sell to the .99 cent guy, assuming there are no other bids, and just consider it my bad luck? (I know many bids are placed a the last minute, but there's only been a dozen or so ppl who have looked at the auction so I don't expect a sudden wave of bids). Take it off auction and donate to Toys for Tots?(although it's really not a toy for kids); constructive thoughts are appreciated! I wanted to ship this before the postage rates go up, again, next month. It will cost almost $30 to ship now, who knows what the cost will be with the new rates.

Thanks -

Is there a fire or toy museum near you that may want this for their collection?

Thanks for your replies. No appropiate museums in the area, but I hadn't thought about donating to a fire dept.

Id say donating it to the local fire dept. would be a great idea :)

Have you checked with any of the brit museums? They might be happy to provide shipping. If I recall right, there were only 700 or so of that one made.

It's up for auction. You are pretty well obligated to sell it if you have a bid. It's (eBay) honor.
