* I thought since there are obviously QC issues w/ 21st.C & others ,.. there might be a solution to some grief buyers are going through , as far as a requisition.
1. If you plan to trade or purchase an item from a Board member and it is "still sealed inside the box" , ask that it be pre-inspected first , to insure that the item is "Ok to Ship".
2. If there are any issues w/ it , then the Seller or Shipper can relay info on any obvious defects found.
3. If you choose that your item "not be pre-inspected" , then buyer accepts the risk.
* This could cut down on some of the problems associated w/ defective merchandise traded or sold on here.

Good idea! However, it should always be a matter of common courtesy for a member to ship an item that is in good shape, or the best shape in which it could be found. I always ensure that the member I am selling or trading with gets the best-looking item from the selection available to me. If I happen to be selling an item that was already displayed, then I very carefully describe the condition to the other member. Again, that all should be common courtesy in the first place!
I have had a couple transactions in the past where the item arrived in less-than-desired shape and it was quite annoying. Now, sometimes there is no way of knowing what may be broken on an item, as you cannot see the defect in the box. That is most certainly where MG-42’s inspection ideas come in handy

Good call Mitch. I saw the post where someone got a FW-190 you sent them that had some QC issues. Just to bring some sanity to this issue I think we all know there are lemons out there. I think all of us try to take care of each other and I would hate to think someone would go to the trouble of picking up an item for me then have to inspect it and return it if it doesn't pass muster.
Lots of people have helped me out with items not in my AO and I am glad to get them, warts and all.
In short, don't feel badly Mitch!

It sould already be common courtesy to describe what can be seen inside the plastic of a sealed box. Sounds like some people have had this experience - and I'd be frustrated too. But what can you do other than email the buyer and type "from what I can see inside the item there dosn't appear to be anything broken." When the package arrives and something is broken - with that person already saying they inspected the item - well then thats what post office insurance is for.
All in all - we seem to take care of each other and tend to go overboard when it comes to making sure things are shipped safely. One way to quickly deal with a possible problem i to have a thread for negative feedback and a thread for positive feedback. But give the trader/seller an chance to correct the problem before any negative integrity is created.
The negative feedback thread coupled with the new trader wait rule should be enough to keep potential problems in low numbers.
