I've had to block his email due to constant harassing, sexually-themed emails from him. I think he thinks he is hurting my feelings. Anyway, he began emailing me from Lightbrigade666@yahoo.com, masquerading as a fellow board member scammed by Audie Murphy.

This confirms raiderad's theory that his scammer was the same guy.

Apologies if that had already been confirmed.

As many of you know, he popped up on eBay and was promptly banned-apparantly trying to get people to send items based on PayPal echecks that eventually bounced.

He began emailing me a couple of weeks ago with various off-color comments, etc. I sent a curt email, saying I was not going to read any of his emails, and was in fact blocking his email address.

So now he sends me emails from one address after another (all yahoo). I am ignoring them, but he keeps sending them. Some are attempts to impersonate board members, and others are generally mocking of the board and the trading forum in particular. Some are sexual.

One read:

Would you be interested in trading some 1/18 scale XD
Extreme Detail U.S. or German paratroopers?? Oh, I am
sorry, I forgot you don't have those anymore! How
about a 1/18 scale XD Extreme Detail Normandy
Farmhouse or Hayloft?? Oh, wait, that's right, You
don't have those anymore either do you?!?! Did you
know you can get 3 to 4, and sometimes even up to 5
times what they're worth on eBay?? No, that's right
too, you wouldn't know that would you?? You're not a
very good business man Booby, you let your stuff go
waaaaay too cheap:)

Another:

This is you;
"Hello, my name is Booby Rhine-shit and I have lot's
of things to just give away. Anybody want any little
plastic paratroopers?? How 'bout some little plastic
buildings?? Hmmm?? Just let me know if you want 'em
cuzz they're all free...yep, they're free...and oh
yeah, my wife will blow ya if you don't mind a little
teeth..."
(laughing ass completely off!!)

Another was far too obscene to repeat here. Suffice it to say, it was signed "Your Big Hairy Cocksman".

Am I the only one to get these??? I ignore, block email addresses, and next time I sign on there is another.

What is clear is that he thinks he is entitled to these items based on his belief that the people who send them are stupid and deserve to be preyed upon by him. He thinks he is smarter than us, and so he ought to just take our stuff and laugh.

His derisive comments about the items, and the eBay comment make me reexamine my earlier belief that he was simply an unscrupulous collector and not reselling. I don't know.

I guess it doesn't matter. He screwed us, it is over, and there isn't anything we can do to stop him from keeping our stuff and having a big laugh at all our expense. And he knows it.

That is very disapointing. I wish there was a way we could do something to stop him and make him pay. People like this really suck and they think they are smarter by taking advantage of good honest people. Even with the Tsunami there were unscrupulous people scamming generous caring people. If there are people that will take advantage in that situation then it shouldn't be a suprise (I guess) that there is some loser scamming a bunch of toy collectors. This kind of thing makes me very angry (not just that he scammed us but that he is so arrogant to send messages like this.)and if there was a realistic way to block him from ever doing anything on this board that would be great. It really is too bad that we can't do something to him-that could be very satisfying.

I thought of another thing-everyone who had a run in with this loser watch out for any attempts to steal identities. I don't know if he has enough info from the addresses to do anything but it would not suprise me if he tried. The good thing if he did is that we would all have an immediate suspect and the authorities would be interested in something of that magnitude.

Well he wouldn’t be sending those to you if you didn’t get under his skin. This pud needs to remember that more than just a few people on this board have his address and provoking people you just ripped off may lead to a dark alley experience he may not be prepared for. Not that I’m promoting such a thing. Anyway, we have money to buy our toys and this poor lowly creature has no choice but to steal so his Barbie doll won’t get lonely.

Good way of looking at it. And I wonder if he thinks about the many, many people with his address?

You can call his partner in crime, Deborah Napier (same name and address, helps him in the scam and lies) at her work number any morning. :)

Robert, would you be so kind as to post Mrs. Napier's info again? I should think that posting of it would be beneficial to us all as we call her at work to express our feelings about her and her husband's action's.

I must say I’m sorry that this guy did this here to all you good hearted people but I think we have all learned a valuable lesson. I only traded once on the other board and that will probably be it for me but this guy is done here unless he gets really lucky. I assume he comes back to get his thrills from reading the posts about him. Hell he’s just about got his own thread now. The best thing that can be done now is to pursue him off the board and not give him anything to read here anymore. Just my 2 cents worth, if that.

On a brighter note, check out this cool link.

Deborah K. Napier

765-966-2656 ext. 311

She works until 12 every day. She will, of course, say she buys toys for her "grandson", and that she does not know Jerry Napier or why he receives mail at her address. But she buys XD on eBay. :) Family of liars....

Very disappointing to hear that the authorities are prepared to do nothing n this matter. This person's scams could easily total in the thousands of dollars and nothing can/will be done to stop him, so he'll just keep right on going. We've seen how practiced his techniques are and how little fear he has of reprecutions. He's clearly been doing this a long while and has a lot of experience and knowledge.

Those who were burned by him can take some solice in the fact that people like this, who see no negative consequences to their actions, will get bolder and bolder over time, until eventually he screws over the wrong person and ends up dead or commits more serious offences that land him in prison.

A lesson learned. Let's all be more cautious in future dealings with unknown individuals. If you are doing a large dollar trade you might want to use an escrow service. For a few dollars they give a lot of piece of mind. Conducting trades through Ebay and Paypal also gives some protection but as we've seen, a determined crook can almost always scam someone.

Aferg:

Can you give us some details on using an "escrow service"? I know the term but have never heard of such a service to help in trades.

We are all disapointed with this guy getting away with it. In a few weeks he'll be back on eBay, doing his worse, and I'm sure he'll be back among us in short order to try again. This will continue until somebody feels enough is enough and "toy rage" replaces road rage. It is sad but we only hope this guy gets what he deserves.

I would also agree that we all should use care in trades.

with escrow services the buyer sends them the money. Once they receive it they confirm to the seller they have it and the seller sends the item. Once the buyer acknowledges receipt of the item they then forward the money to the seller.

Packages have to be sent by verifiable means (registered, signature required etc)

I'm from the south. I know some guys in Memphis who would go beat on this guys door and then beat on his face for a very reasonable fee. Maybe some of you guys who are local should look into a local version of this "business". Before any of you give me the "violence is not the answer" I say yes, in this case it is a great answer. When the cops don't do their jobs you do it for them. If cops don't care about all this theft, I think a couple of guys in ski masks beating some POS half to death won't be too important to them either.

WTF! The police aren't interested? It isn't up to them which crimes are to be prosecuted. They know who the perpetrator is. You gave them his name and address, right? Write your congressman if the police refuse to take action!

Save all of the e-mails he has sent you. This has turned into sexual harassment! File new charges against him! Sexual harassment, I think is a zero tolerance issue. They will have to take action!

Don't let up on this SOB!
We are all behind you.

File a law suite in your local small claims court for the value of the merchandise he stole, plus lost wages for court. Keep the value low, nothing excessive. If he doesn't show a warrant will be placed for his arrest. The police may not take the time to arrest him, BUT the next time he gets stopped for a traffic violation or something simple then the police will arrest him. :D

My wife works for an attorney. I may not have all the facts right but the clerk at the court house should fill you in. If not, ask me, and I will have my wife write it all down.

I'm not a lawyer, I don't play one on tv, nor did I stay at a Holiday Inn Express, but I think Tanker is pretty close on this.
Local small claims cival court is is a alternative!

Small Claims Court is great but after you get a judgment against this person you then have to interest a local marshall to serve the guy and sieze his personal property which the marshall then sells and after expenses, you get your money.

Not easy to interest a marshall to act on your behalf. They are interested in the big guys with alot of money and property.

Good luck to you guys, justice don't come easy.

I speak from experience. Still waiting for some money.
