Lonnie = Audie?

Post by ParatrooperCarbine » Mon Dec 13, 2004 8:11 pm

Ok, fine. Someone who dealt with Audie, please compare his address with the one listed above for Lonnie. Are they the same?

If so, then I think we can safely assume that there is no surprised father of a delinquent son here-just a con artist.

In which case, send the Marines!

They are not the same. As posted above, Audie Murphy (Jerry Napier) off the old board lived in Richmond, IN while our Wayne guy is using the Evans address.

Not so sure.

Post by ParatrooperCarbine » Mon Dec 13, 2004 9:02 pm

Yes, Audie was in IN. But so is Lonnie.
Lonnie C. Woods
211 N.W. H Street
Richmond, Indiana
47374

And we already know Audie = Jerry Napier = Wayne. I know that from my phone conversation today. Audie uses an IN address, and Wayne uses an OH address, but I think it is just a matter of the person having contacts in both states that he can have packages sent to.

I think the same address given for Lonnie is the one people sent Audie's stuff to.

Sorry to disagree, but I think they are all either the same person or associates.

Will the other people conned please email me at RobertR74@aol.com? Now is the time to get together, exchange phone numbers, and work together. We can all contact his local law enforcement.

I agree, they are all the same person, I'm just saying that there is more than one address. Another address used by Audie Murphy on the old board was:

Jerry Napier
312 North 16th Street
Richmond, Indiana 47374

Now is this his actual address, and the current one his parents??

ADDRESSES

Post by ParatrooperCarbine » Mon Dec 13, 2004 9:22 pm

Eaton, OH is his grandparents or parents. Each of the IN addresses is probably another relative or friend.

The person I talked to today is now giving me BS about wanting to sent everything at the same time at the end of the week.

Well, that is enough BS for me. Time to call law enforcement.

What other victims want to coordinate with me?

All the same guy, many yahoo addresses. The Indiana address Ski has above is where Audie Murphy received my stuff. I've given up ever seeing it again but would gladly help out. I have some pretty revealing emails from him myself.

Last night I called some old friends in NYC: one is a retired letter carrier, and the other the head of the postal union. Here's what they both told me--notify the postal inspectors.

Who wouldn't fear "mailmen with guns"!

The P.O.s will do all the leg work. Give 'em a call, guys.

Contacting the postal inspector

Post by ParatrooperCarbine » Tue Dec 14, 2004 9:56 am

I sent mine through DHL, so the postal inspector won't work for me. Would one of you who used the Post Office like to give it a try?

I am a long time visitor to the board and am now posting for the first time. I have followed the discussion regarding the scam artist with some interest. I am an Assistant District Attorney (I prosecute felonies) in Mississippi, and would like to make the following observations:

1. The feds will likely not be interested because they typically have threshhold amounts to be met in prioritizing cases. The amounts here may not inerest them - still try them, but don't be too dissappointed if they don't move on it.

2. Different states have different laws, but the threshold amount for a felony (a crime carrying more than 1 year of prison time) is often $500. I saw someone who said they had been taken for $700. This person in particular should push this with the local prosecutors/law enforcement listed in previous posts on this thread.

3. Also talk to your local prosecutors/law enforcement. The mail and wire fraud statutes in virtually every state are copied from the federal statute which provides venue BOTH where the package is sent from as well as where it is delivered. In short, he can be prosecuted on YOUR home turf. Looks to me like if you get at least a cusory investigation to I.D. the guy, you can then make an example of him.

Hope this helps,

Clay Joyner

Oh - one other thing - Besides "cusory" needing a correction to "cursory"- Scam artists like this guy typically use "drops" - other addresses besides their own - its likely that none of the addresses you have is actually his, but rather someone who knows him and accepts these for him. That's why local law enforcement needs to interview the people at these addresses. This guy can and should be prosecuted. It is very doable, so stay after it.

Update and telephone numbers for police

Post by ParatrooperCarbine » Wed Dec 15, 2004 9:26 am

In this case, no news is bad news.

As many of you know, I have been in touch with this guy, asking for my items back.

He has claimed he has confiscated them from this supposed son of his, and is sending them, but, of course, I take that with a grain of salt. He assured me he was sending them yesterday. Not surprisingly, I have not heard from him since then.

Guys, he has told us we would have our items by Friday. When Friday comes and no items arrive, we ALL need to call him.

As far as law enforcement is concerned, here are some departments and numbers I have come up with. Some of you will probably also want to contact your local law enforcement, as the above post advises.

I got these numbers from an online search. I do not know if they all work, or which one(s) you should try. You may try one number and be directed to another.

I suspect that calling the Eaton number might be good, considering that is the address the last batch of items was sent to.

Richmond Police Department
Non-Emergency (765) 983-7247
Investigative Services (765) 983-7249

Eaton Police Department
328 N Maple St
Eaton, Ohio 45320
(937)456-5531
937-456-6262

Good luck, and keep us posted on your progress!
