Hello!
I know I've never posted on the board, but I've been lurking for a while. Here's the rub: a friend of mine used to have a touch of the OCD hoarding bug. He bought lots of planes. They sat in his attic for years. His situation has changed, and now he would like to sell them.
ALL of the 1/32d planes are still in the original and unopened boxes. Only an approximate 10 of the forty 18th-scale planes are "loose" (but assembled); the rest are still in their original and unopened boxes. The loose/complete 10 are in great condition, as they were hanging from his ceiling.
A note about pricing and why I'm here: I don't *dislike* ebay, but it is a hassle. I like fanatics and collectors (being one myself), I want these to go to a good home, and I figured it may just be easier and quicker for everyone if I gave forums such as this one a shot at them first.
I arrived at the pricing by tracking prices on ebay for only those auctions that were COMPLETED ( that is, with a winning bid, a buy-it-now price being met, or a "best offer" bid being accepted. (I'll gladly share these chaotic spreadsheets with anyone who asks.)
I then averaged the purchase price of each aircraft type (all variants and subvariants together) and subtracted an arbitrary amount ranging from $10 to $15 from each.
Yes, sometimes the purchase prices ranged more than $100 from identical auctioned planes, and it seemed some versions of often-produced planes/liveries (P-51s, Me-109s, P-38s) were more desired than others, but I figured a pure arithmetical mean over a period of six months or so was the fairest approach (minus the $10-15 to account for bidding-war outliers).
As I said, almost all are MIB, but, if you're a "box collector," be aware that most of these boxes show shelf (attic) wear. I'll gladly send photos upon request, but, dang, it's a lot of planes, and that's ANOTHER reason that has kept me off ebay.
Please don't hesitate to ask me any questions, or make suggestions about the pricing, or offer a bid for a bulk purchase.
That said, please know that I'm doing this for a friend (with an honest 30% commission), and, because my car needs a new head gasket, I'll pay half of the shipping for anything bought before Thursday noon (Central US).
Oh, shipping would be from NW Florida, United State, ZIP: 32548. And I'm a damn good packer
Thanks for your time, and I hope you guys find something you've been wanting and at a reasonable price.
If you see anything you're interested in, just mention scale and line number (i.e., 1:18, 5 for Bf-109 black 6).
Oh, and I'm only setup for PayPal, but am reasonable if you can't do that for some reason.
Oh (again), and since I'm an unknown on this forum, please feel free to drop me a line to ask for some bona-fides, or check out my ebay reputation at bingo_was_the_farmer.
Thanks again.
Tom

I recognized the zip code from growing up west of there in Gulf Breeze.
