Custom Bulge Germans for trade

Post by flyboy_fx » Mon Mar 12, 2012 10:09 am

I've got some custom Ardennes Whermacht Germans for trade. I was going to use them in a diorama, but decided to go the route of sealing joints. They're still sorta pose-able, but like any painted figure, not for excessive handling. It takes a chance of scratching off the paint.

Edit: Sorry the pics aren't great, it hides a little of the weathering. The white is not monotone.

Here are the figures and what I'll trade for them.

German soldier w/panzerfaust in all white camo. Will trade for:
2x German winter tanker figures
Dragon panzerfaust 60
Dragon breadbag
Dragon mess kit
Dragon canteen
21st Century toys German helmet with camo cover

German soldier w/MG42 with white parka and splinter pants.

Will trade for:
2x German winter tanker figures
21st MG42
Dragon breadbag
21st German helmet with camouflage cover

German soldier w/Mp44 with sumpftarn parka
Will trade for:
2x German winter tanker figures
Dragon breadbag
Dragon mess kit
Dragon canteen
Dragon MP44 pouches
Dragon MP44
Dragon shovel
Dragon K98 bayonet
21st German helmet with camouflage cover

If you trade for the whole lot, I'll ask for only 5 German winter tankers+the gear for each one) and throw in this guy:

Note: His arms are glued to the overcoat, I couldn't figure out how to make them operate. Old style arms in a new style body.

They look pretty sharp along side some winter tanks!

Cool. Are the base figs for the first three guys German tankers?!?! I couldn't find those torsos anywhere else so that must be it. Did you have to buy a tanker for each of those figs?! They are expensive so I assume you casted them in resin right?

Nope, I bought them. I find good deals, get them for around $10-15.

Wow, nice. I was hoping to possibly try that but now that I heard you bought a tanker for each one, that will be a challenge.

Do you think that I could cast the bodies? So I would only need to buy one. If they could be casted, do you think it is worth it, or would it be more expensive to cast and paint them than buy a whole new figure?

Thanks,

AJ

Hmm, initial cost for silicone for the mold could be around $30-$40. Costs for resin each mold might be $10. Ask PH what he thinks the cost would be, he deals with resin a lot more than me.
I was thinking of giving figure casting a go soon. Working on a pressure casting system for relatively bubble free castings. I've got a custom FJ torso I will cast.
