My Custom 1/32 B-25 For Sale

Post by Coreyeagle48 » Wed Jun 17, 2009 11:40 pm

Greetings:

I am possibly putting up my custom B-25 Mitchell I made a few years ago for sale. I have changed interests over the last year and my space for my models cramped up really fast. I'm happy with my 1/18 and airshow models and am sticking to that.

This model was built from the old Aurora screwdriver kit. Pieces from the Guillows balsa kit were used to fill in for missing parts and to convert the plane to a glass nose version. This is why the nose doesn't quite fit correctly. Crew positions were filled in using 1/32 pilots from the Xtreme Wings P-47. Propellors came from the corsair and the machine guns were plastic used from various parts, etc. Decals were custom made by me using photos from actual plane.

The model can be viewed here

A couple of points I'd like to make

-I am in no way an expert customizer or model maker. This model shows the signs a normal person built this as I did brush paint a few things and got some of the windows a little cloudy, etc. So if you want a pro built model, it's not this one

-This model needs a few things. It really should be cleaned and have a coat of dull clear applied over it to seal the decals, etc. I never did this. Also one of the propellor shafts broke and was repaired with a wooden dowel, but the dowel doesn't quite fit the hole, so the propellor is loose, but can be positioned so it does not come out. This propellor could use a better fitting shaft. The tail wing has a small crack near the one tail, I never repaired it and it has not gotten any worse. The plane could use some touchups in some areas as well.

This is a very unique piece, it will be a delicate item to ship and has to be sold as is because it was a custom piece. I have NO IDEA what to ask for this model. If you are interested make me an offer.

I'm trying to gauge if there is any interest in this for someone's collection. So if you are interested feel free to PM me and we can discuss it. It's a unique plane for a 1/32 collection.

Thanks

Corey
