1/6 Stars Wars Helmet

Post by chunks » Wed Nov 26, 2008 6:03 pm

Can anyone suggest where/how to get the helmet from the Sideshow Toys Capt. Antilles or Trooper figure? Other then buy the full figure, of course.

The original Star Wars prop was based on a USN helmet used to provide protection while still using the "sound powered microphone", era unknown. It's the last item I'm still looking for to complete my 40mm bofers display.

Thanks in Advance.

I guess I can make a mold of one when I get my Fleet trooper...Or you could get one of the Hasbro 12" Death Star Troopers or Gunners and chop up one of those.

Thanks very much for the offer. The kind folks at SAG have shown me that I was headed the wrong way.

I really like the Easter egg idea.

I should have mentioned this earlier, just way late in the day and I didn't expect such a quick offer. Again thanks very much for thinking about how to make this work.

I was wondering if you were planning on shaping the rear of the helmet. Ive actually used these helmets back when I was a Seaman (insert joke here) and I have to tell you that wearing it is probably one of the most humiluiating things Ive ever done in Service to my country! I had one for the MK96 turret on a Cyclone patrol boat recently, as soon as I saw it, it mysteriously went over the side. I replaced it with a helmet from an AAVP! Much more dignified:)

Yeh, they're pretty funky looking. The old solid shell CVC from my days wasn't a lot better, but at least it was a more familiar colour.
