Bidding?

Post by der Vogelfänger » Fri Feb 29, 2008 3:28 am

I have been in and out for the last 4 months, thus this question:

When did this B/S/T forum turn into a mini-eBay...bidding on items. In the last three years here it has all been done by naming a price and going from there. Bidding?

When did we turn the above corner?

When did this B/S/T forum turn into a mini-eBay...bidding on items..?
I think that was just a one time deal, one of our members purchased a large lot of 32X tanks at a yard sale or something, and just wanted to move as many of the excess items he didn't want to keep, so he offered these for sale at a starting "bid" of $5, which is very resonable. I don't think were gonna turn in to a mini ebay.

Sorry, that was me. I just wasn't sure how it was going on in the PM world. I see offers of items for sale, and then just a thread of "PM sent" messages. Since I don't know what's going on in PM world, and none of the posts I made asking about a good way to do it got much in the way of response, I opted to go that route. I mainly just wanted to make sure that those who wanted the items could get them, while not just relying on a first come first serve system. I suppose if I was offering them at fair market price, first come might be ok, but since I am willing to pass on the great deal I got, I just didn't want someone who didn't really care about the piece, or only wanted to Ebay it themselves, to respond first, and get it for $5, when someone who wants the same piece for their own collection, but was at work during the day to miss out just because they were not first.

I am, by all means, open to suggestions on the best way to do this. I still have pieces to offer, so feel free to let me know what is best.

I think putting something up for sale and taking offers is a good idea.
