Small Scale Military Headquarters

It amazes me that Corgi has not yet released this most famous version of the WWII M4 Sherman tank, especially since they are a British company, and the "Firefly" was the most successful modification of the M4 Sherman Tank during WWII becasue of the lethality of the 17 pound/76.3mm gun (just ask Michael Wittman's ghost).
The US M4A3 had a much less effective 76mm gun, and the M4A3E8 "Easy 8" with HVSS and high velocity gun did not arrive on the western front until Jan 1945.
BTW, Corgi does offer the M4A3E8 in the limited Battle of the Bulge collection.
It also appears that an M4 version belonging to the US 761st Tank Battalion (circa March 1945) will be released this spring under the History Channel series. This model looks like a Firefly, but I'm sure the 761st never had any.

I realize this thread was posted in February but I am catching up. Been away from the boards for 4 months due to family medical reasons.

I was wondering the same thing Sgt. Stryker. I believe the Firefly was the most powerfully armed British tank of WWII. What is interesting is that the Firefly was developed as a precaution against the possible failure of the Challenger program. The Ministry of Supply was opposed to the idea but the War Office insisted on a prototype. We know the rest of the story.
