Man, that M5 Artillery Tractor looks sweeet!! I wish 21st or FOV would crank out one of these because I doubt I can afford the K&C model.

As always the K&C stuff looks awesome, thanks for posting the pics.

King & Country is expensive, no doubt about that. The M5 is listed at $129. Their soldiers usually sell for about $25 for a single figure and their is three figures in this set.

Forces of Valor will be going up in price again toward the first of the year so a tank with figures will probably be around $45-55. I doubt if they would produce an item like this. They probably couldn't do the numbers to justify it.

I would love to see it, but I have to agree with Crossroads, it seems doubtful.

Along these same lines, I think an M29 "Weasel" would be really cool as well. If memory serves me, the Weasel saw considerable use during the Bulge, bringing up supplies and ferrying wounded, due to the terrible road conditions it was one of the few vehicles that could get through at all in some cases. If I'm not mistaken Weasels also saw some use during the Hurtgen Forest battles because of somewhat similar circumstances and conditions.

These do add up quick. I know some collectors who actually prefer the Forces of Valor vehicles to the K&C vehicles. K&C has definitely made some large improvements in the last year or two but it is still hard to go wrong with Forces of Valor, both for the quality and the price. Some of the collectors who aren't overly scale conscious will add the K&C soldiers with the FOV vehicles.

I am one of those that doesnt really like the K&C vehicles.

However they are definately getting better, if they can just keep the scale constant and correct (lol and shrink them a bit) then I would actually buy the stuff.

That tractor really does look good even if its of a subject I would never actually buy.

Some of the K&C stuff is actually 1/32 and not the advertised 1/30 and if I knew that a particular range was 1/32 I probably would buy it.

Oh how id love to have the LRDG stuff in true 1/32.

Figarti has some LRDG items in 1:32. Their figures are not quite as good as King & Country but their vehicles are good.

there's a 1/35 scale model kit of the high speed tractor, a bit small i guess but reasonable, if there is nothing else to compare it to.

Just as a side note, the gun in the KC picture is not the long tom, it's the 8 inch howitzer and the barrel should not be slid back like it is. Only the long tom's barrel was moved back for limber, because it was so long. The 8 inch howitzer's barrel was not very long and so did not need to be moved backwards during towing.

You guys are probably right on about no HST from FOV or 21st. I'd be pretty happy with a deuce and a half though.

Those look awesome. It's a shame that those things cost so much and the figures just don't look right

To be honest, as soon as that picture of the M5 was posted, I was expecting at least one or two forum members to have trouble picking their jaws up off of the floor & mopping up the drool!

Btw, the larger M4 Tractor would have towed that cannon rather than the smaller M5 pictured.

that's true; the M5 was used to tow the 105 and 155 howitzers...the long tom/8" were considered too big...i'm not even sure the M5 had the air brake set uprequired for those bigger gun's carriages.
