a mistake between 2 Sdkfz 251/7 from dragon armor ?

Post by cheesecake » Tue Oct 30, 2007 8:32 am

i wonder whether if there is not an error between these two references from dragon armor :

60296 named "SdKfz 251/7 Ausf D, Unidentified Unit, Italy 1944"

and

60306 named "SdKfz 251/7 Ausf D, Pz. Lehr Division, Southern Normandy 1944"

because on the first, we can see the Panzerlehr patch :

Furthermore, the number marking show an panzerlehr vehicle for me !!

What do you think about this ?

I dont know I think a lot of people worry too much. I may be in the minority but I buy toys... Unit markings and number plates mean little to me.

If i were a collector and was paying dragons higher prices I may worry??? Clearly its the Panzerlehr marked. I would imagine 80% of what dragon sales ends up in the hands of people who wouldnt know anyway?

Either way its a sweet 1/2 track... I want a 32X version

If the brain is working...it could be Grenadier-Lehr-Brigade, formed 6.44 and absorbed 10.44 by another Infantrie Unit.

Monticelli / Monte Altuzzo
In linea

Fallschirm-Jäger-Regiment 12. (4. Fallschirm – Division)

Divisions-Füsilier-Bataillon 305. (305. Infanterie - Division

I think Dragon 's packaging has got confused. The U/i Italy version is, I'm pretty sure, a Panzer Lehr vehicle from Normandy - it looks like a vehicle I've seen pictured knocked out near ST Lo. The Dragon model purporting to be a Panzer Lehr vehicle has SS number plates - Panzer Lehr was a Heer formation so that can't be right.

There is a photograph which has appered in a number of publications showing a vehicle of that type in 12 SS "Hitler Jugend" insignia (in fact it appears on the box of of the "Italy" vehicle).

Maybe they just got the boxes switched in China?

Someone probably messed up the labeling on the boxes, that's all.

I plan on getting the other one (60306) and it doesn't break my heart that it's mislabeled :) It's just interesting to have a vehicle with the 28mm squeeze-bore gun... I remember using it in Steel Panthers, and lucky shots were able to penetrate the armor of Grants and Shermans sometimes.
