Did anyone out there get the new FOV Blackhawk "Iraqi Freedom" edition?

Does anyone know if the darker paint job makes the ridiculously emphasized rivets/hard points any less ridiculous-looking? The photos of the "Desert Storm" model (especially with a bright flash) made the rivets seemed so overdone that I didn't buy the model, even if FOV seems to do a good job otherwise.
On a somewhat related note, any other companies make consistently good helicopter diecasts 1:48 and smaller? I've seen some good Apaches and Hueys out there, and there's that brilliant (yet really hard to find/expensive) discontinued CDC Armor 1:100 helicopter line, but that's all I know....
