Anybody collect 1/72 modern jets?

Post by Black Lion VF-213 » Tue Oct 09, 2007 11:03 am

I have in my collection two 1/72 Dragon F-14's, one FOV F-14, one Century Wings F-14, one Witty Wings F-15, and one Dragon F-18 SuperHornet. anyone else collect these scales in jets?

I think they are really well done and not bad pricing for what you get.

I am typically not a jet guy, but I picked up Century Wings A-6 Intruder today.. I had to.. It was one of my favorites growing up and I couldn't resist.. It is excellent although pricey, which is a good thing as it will keep me from buying too many..

I would like to collect them... but my money is limited
and, many new models tanks are released !! i ordered 8 tank this month from ebay and my local shop...

but, i'm interested by the witty wings items... exotic planes (israeli, greek, belgian...)
unfortunately, no distributor in france...

and order by the web become expensive with international ship cost (i noticed on ebay and several US web seller a big increase of USPS ship fees)...

Even on ebay, it's not as good as before.

My collection is all WWII since that is my favorite era but there are some modern aircraft I would like to get like a Phantom, Tomcat, etc. etc. I will get to them eventually. 8)

Yes, have all the Dragon (including the CH offerings) modern AC and quite a bit of their WW2 offerings. Have both the FOV Tomkitties, all the CW tomcats and now the Intruder, as well as quite a few Witty Wings offerings. The CW are incredible pieces, but for the money, the Dragon ac are worth it IMHO.

Century Wings

Post by lightning2000 » Thu Oct 11, 2007 7:38 am

Hi,
We were a bit late to the game to stock the Century Wings line but I can see why people are going ga-ga over their aircraft. Talk about hyper-realistic! Anyway, I can see this line becoming the de facto range of 1:72 scale modern warbirds for the forseeable future. Even though they're somewhat more expensive than comparable aircraft offered by other manufacturers, you certainly get what you pay for.

My only gripe is they need to start coming out with frontline aircraft instead of retired birds. F-22, F-35, F/A-18E, F-15E, etc. need to be added to this portfolio, along with other nations. Very hot stuff...

I have a very small modern jet collection, considering what all is avaliable:

Matchobx F-86
Matchbox Mig-15
Matchbox F-100
Matchbox F-104 USAF
Matchbox F-104 NASA
FOV F-14 (the newest one)

I've been very tempted by the Hobbymaster A-4 and the Mig-21, as well as some of the Corgi modern British jets.

You should take a look at some of the Hobby Master 1/72 planes, jets and WWII.
