Small Scale Military Headquarters

Has anybody bought the 21st Century m7 priest, and would you recommend it? Also, is it diecast or snap together??? Thanks!

I got mine in kit form. So its snap and screw together. Its a nice piece to add to your collection so I would recommend it.

I have two, one pre-built and another in kit form. The pre-built was done in cold steel while the kit was all ABS. My preference is for the pre-built as it has more "heft" and fits much better. The kit went together with a slight gap between the glacis plate and transmission cover.

All that being said I think it is a wonderfully done piece with good detail to the interior. You may wish to black wash the model, especially the gun to bring out the details and I added quite a few shell casings to the ammo bins were not so empty.

Try for the cold steel release if you can find one, I think it is slightly better than the model.

I didn't no the pre- built one was cold steel I though it was just the same has the kit. Now I will have to look for that one to.

I have the "Cold Steel" prebuild version and the kit version. I really like both types of the M7, though as previously noted, the "Cold Steel" version has more heft and also comes with two crew figures, which the kit does not include.

As the armored vehicle obviously has an open top, it is one of the few 32x vehicles on which 21c included a full detailed "interior." The driver's position has the seat, instruments, and steering levers. You can see part of the transmission next to the compartment. The interior sides are lined with ammo storage slots (the vehicle itself comes with several loose 105mm shells and spent casings) The 105mm Howitzer itself is well detailed with cranks, gunner's seat, elevation, traverse, and barrel recoil. The commander's station features a seat, rifle rack, and machinegun. The rear decking features stowage accessories that are seperate pieces making them look realistic.

Overall, the 32x M7 Priest is a great vehicle and you won't be disappointed!

I have found the kit form to sometimes be plastic but sometimes metal. At a store near me the first round that hit was metal but the second round plastic. You can feel the weight difference if you hold one in each hand. There were slight differences in the box art too. I believe the box showing the "Annamae" version is the plastic, though I could be wrong. The one thing I can tell you for certain is that the kit was/is available in both forms.

The priest is a geat model, one of my favorites. I have the one that came with a playset, it's all plastic.
