Such a neat kit; very tempting.
It's amazing how much excitement this gun causes, despite the fact it never fired a shell in anger. And its sister gun Gustav, only fired 48 shells (at Sevastapol).
Even more amazing larger guns and vehicles were under development but were either cancelled or destroyed in air raids before being completed.

YOU SAW THE REAL ONE? Where? That must've been amazing. A 1/35 scale kit of this would be huge no?

Luftpanzer,
Where did you see Dora. That thing has not been around for 63 years. Are talking about the K-5 at Aberdeen Proving Grounds?

must be....neither of the two guns survived the war. There is a Dora shell in a museum in Poland but that's about all that's left of her.

My local hobby shop had one of these Dora guns in stock by Metal Troop Creations, I believe it was $600 and already reserved.

Here's an interesting youtube video which contains images of what i believe is either Gustav or Dora firing. If so that is very rare footage.
Also, towards the end there is a huge, heavily camoflauged railway gun firing. I am wondering if that is footage of Gustav firing at Sevastapol?
An interesting video, regardless...

IIRC the US army found a barrel in Germany in 1945.

There is a DORA shell in the Imperial War Museum in London, England.
the 1/35 DORA kit is big!
the 1/144 kits is over a foot long!
if you look at the el-basser links on this page, toward the bottom half are a fair few links to pic and videos of the 1/144 edition!
