FOV 1:72 Stuka Zu Fuss Halftrack Question

Post by Rowsdower » Wed Aug 22, 2007 1:46 pm

Ok, I picked this up last week and I have to say I'm impressed, amazing detail for such a tiny model, even the mg mount swivels! One thing I haven't figured out is what the hell is the included figure is supposed to be doing? He doesn't look like he's maning the MG or loading rockets. So does anybody who has this vehicle know?

I think he's leaning over the side to talk to passing infantrymen or something. When I have him next to my 1:72 soldiers, that's what it looks like. His arms are unnaturally long though .... really freaking looking.

I'll be damned if I haven't lost one of those rockets already...

I always thought it looked like he was supposed to load the rockets but maybe not. I will have to look at mine again.

I think the leaning over the side hypothesis is correct. I actually use him on my FOV Stuka. He stands on the wing and leans over the opened engine.

I agree with the rocket loading due to how the arms are situated.

Ah, ok thanks all. I think you guys are right. He does look a bit better that way. Once I open my Stuka I will have to try him on the wing peering into the engine compartment like Tman's.

I was looking at the extreme battle packs with the M3 Halftrack and howitzer but every single barrel of every gun except a Thompson was all bent up. I guess that comes with there territory in 1:72 since they are so small but I wish they could use a stronger plastic.

Actually that's not true at all, it's just the Forces of Valor figures are like that. I don't like their weapons at all, they're distorted little blobs that in many cases don't come close to looking as they should. They could do much better, just compare them to some of the fantastic 1/72 plastic figures by manufacturers shown on the Plastic Toy Soldier Review website to see what quality you can find in this scale.

Hmm, that is good to hear and I will check it out. I do like their vehicles but as you say their firearms are pretty bad.
