Small Scale Military Headquarters

Maybe this has been already mentioned... I can't remember... but I found one of the new 1/32 figure sets today at a TRU. Its the one with the two GI's guarding three German POW's.
I have to say these guys are a vast improvement over the previous figure sets. No more "Popeye" arms!
These are very similar to the level found in the figures supplied with the FOV vehicles.( as we had all been screaming for them to do for so long!)
If they continue like this I will be very pleased.
Now, if we could only persuade them to change their packaging for these sets. It took me fifteen minutes to liberate these fellows from their wire and plastic confines.

P.S. - These were the Action grade. I can see where there will be room for improvement for the Enthusiast grade. For example, the German in the long coat has nicely sculpted buttons and hat insignia, but these are unpainted ( just the same grey as the hat and coat. These details could easily be picked up for a later edition ( I may have to break out the paint myself!)
The GI's have much better paint details than the Germans. Still, the face sculpts on the Germans are really nice!

Nope...no special painting on the enthusiast Germans. Action grade is as good as the enthusiast grade.

Still, they are good finds and cheaper than getting them online with the higher postage costs and so on. I think that of all the 1:32 figure sets we've seen between 21c and FOV, these are the most creative - especially the POW set

Yes, I would have to say the POW set was the best yet from FOV.

Hmmm, that makes me wonder how the ADL would react to a set like this. It certainly couldn't pointed to as a glorification of Nazism. Maybe FOV/21st should include a few dead/wounded/surrendering Waffen SS with *every* german vehicle they produce to keep the pc crowd off their back!

I used to see PC guys like that at the WW2 reactments. My response was always" If you dont like it, don't come." Same with the toys. If you dont like them, dont stand in that toy section guaking at them.

This is what our society has become, a bunch of crybabies who demand anything that they disagree with or are offended by be pulled off the shelves, banned and made illegal. And there is no shotage of greedy lawyers, politicans, and corrupt organizations like the ADL just waiting to swoop in like buzzards on a dead mule. $$$

I see and hear all kinds of stuff that I don't care for but I deal with it. OMG what a concept!

Concerning the special interest groups that dominate our political and social world as of late, I am reminded of Ray Bradbury's book Farenheit 451, which actually goes pretty deep on the issue of free speech and thought. The repressive, book burning world in the story came about partly because at one time special-interest groups found so many things objectionable (in books, for example) that people came to find it easier to abandon debate and start supressing free speech and intellectualism to keep everyone "happy." That supression was symbolized in the story by the burning of books. Kind of makes you think

Agreed! The only thing is...
It's easy to complain about people trying to ban things they find objectionable, when it is the stuff you like which is being banned. The tough part is when it comes time to stand up for the freedom of those with whom you disagree. True free speech has to work both ways.
What's the old quote?
"i may not agree with what you say but I will defend to the death your right to say it."
Now that is tough to follow through on. But that is also true American patriotism.
