Well, I have two FoV King Tigers, and I'd have to say that the "Germany 1944" paint scheme is great - the "France 1944" paint scheme is kinda ugly.

However, I don't think I'd want a King Tiger in an ambush paint scheme. My readings have lead me to believe that lighter armour was used for actual hit-and-run ambushes, like Panthers and Hetzers. King Tigers would be great at defense, but maybe not so good at hit-and-run ambushes - in my humble opinion. I have seen photos of King Tigers with that scheme, but was it very common? I'm not 100% certain.

Does anyone have close-up pictures of their 21st Century King Tigers? I want to compare 'em to my FoV King Tigers to see if it's worth getting a Porsche KT when S2 comes out. At least, I hope they come out with an S2 :)

I think the term ambush camo really has nothing to do with the way these armors are supposed to be employed. Ambush camo is just a term given to the standardized camo pattern that is often seen in late-war German armor.

Most if not all King Tigers (and many Panthers and other vehicles) sport this type of camo, since these were done in the factories as ordered by OKH, rather than letting individual tank crews apply the camo themselves.

In fact, this camo is so common, that it's unusual to see a Kingtiger without this camo scheme from September 1944 till the end of the war.

The FOV Kingtiger can't have the ambush camo, since it has zimmerit. The 21st version can have this type of camo, but it's inaccurate.

I like the FOV Normandy 1944 scheme, but my close second would be the S1 32x KT in the ambush scheme.

For me the Dragon 1/72 #60004 s/SS501, vehicle #008, is the nicest, I also like the Minichamps 1/35 KingTiger, witch is also of s/SS501 - #222.
