I got mine today, and wow! This is one nice model. Really nice crisp detail. It has a good hefty feel to it. The chassis, turret and gun are all metal, plus a metal slug has been placed in the hull (this info came from hobbymastercollector.com) I really like this model. Definitely Dragon quality. I paid $19.99 for it, so, it looks like most of the 1/72 models are going to be in this price range, give or take a few dollars. Dragon now has a true rival in both quality and price, with more metal than Dragon. Now, if HM will just make a Tiger I!!!! Just kidding.

Got a closer look at the HM KV1, which confirms my initial response. Very nice model. Also, the packaging is like Dragon's with 2 exceptions. The first is that the plastic cover is held securely by 2 clear, elastic bands. Also, the name of the tank is on the black plastic base - nice addition. CDC tanks had the name on the base, but more prominently. Hobby Master will be a major player in the 1/72 market

Monkey Depot. For your use: The Kliment Voroshilov (KV) tanks were a series of Soviet heavy tanks, named after the Soviet defense commissar and politician Kliment Voroshilov. At the time of the German invasion of the Soviet Union in World War II, about 500 KV tanks (with about 1,000 T-34 medium tanks) comprised a portion of Soviet tank forces which was clearly superior to German tanks of the period.
