I picked up this plane at a local hobby shop today.

Is this new I don't remember seeing this before?

It was announced at the Toy Fair...I can't wait to get a hold of one...but TH's elaborate paint scheme will be a test of 21CT's quality control, I'd be afraid to buy one sight unseen...how is the paint job on yours (judging from the pic it looks good)...?

Wow, one heck of a paint scheme! I've wanted to pick up a 21st P-47 for awhile so once I see some reviews I just might grab one.

Thanks for the pic of the new plane and all the others of your impressive collection. WOW is the only non profanity laced thing I can think of to describe your collection and the excellent way its displayed.

I've wanted to pick up a 21st P-47 for awhile so once I see some reviews I just might grab one.

I would like to recommend the mount of Col. Dave Schilling...... "Hairless Joe", to me it is one of the most attractive schemes to date on a 32X P-47. It's available in one of the dogfight dual-packs.

I was under the impression that "Tarheel Hal" was an "M" or "N" model P-47 and not a "D" does anyone know for sure?

I just opened up the plane overall I have to say the paint job is a great. The front of the plane is gloss and perfect. On the silver there's a little on the leading edge that could have used a little more paint. Also a small blemish on the rear fusealage. However I couldn't do better, silver is hard. Interesting they're was some whitish spots which wiped off. Could they by using gloves to hold the planes?

I opened up 'The Concise Guide to American Aircraft of World War 2' to compare. It has a profile and the only thing different is the radio antennea is not blue everything else looks right. There's even 5 little white stars on the tail they got right. It does say its a P-47D. I can't tell from the profile if the burnt orange(?) on the rear of the plane is suppossed to be glossy. It looks flat on the 21st's plane. Overall again I think they did a great job. This one will stick out with the flashy gloss paint.

Forgot to mention the trouble they went through with propeller. They painted up the propeller but they changed the decals on it. They put the Curtis Electric decal instead of the Hamilton one's (round instead of oval). I'm impressed they would go through that much trouble when most people wouldn't know even notice.
