Acrylic See-through tank

I e-mailed Dragon inquiring about the possibility of them making a "see through" tank. I know this might sound crazy, but a few years ago I came upon a site that had such an animal for sale. It was "modular" in that you could remove certain "clear" parts of the tank which revealed a pretty detailed interior. I would love to have a Tiger I which was made like this. This would probably have to be done with their 1/35 line, although the interior detail of their 1/72 half-tracks is very well done. I would certainly pay $150.00 for such a tank(if it were 1/35). What do you guys think?

I found that Tamiya produces a finished, transparent, model plane, 262, 1/48 scale, #21021. You can see it at
www.etamiya.com. Type in the word "transparent" and you will find it. Anyone have one of these? Pretty expensive, but interesting concept. This one was $116.00.

in the past there were quite a few clear models. IMC used to make race cars in 1/25th scale and some had clear bodies so you could see all the "stuff". Monogram had the "Phantom Mustang" in 1/32nd scale - still available in a Revell limited re-release. I saw it at a Hobby Lobby for $49.00. They also did a VERY limited "visible B17" in 1/48th scale. Of course several model companies did clear or partially-clear engines, plus the anatomy models. Can't ever remember a clear tank, but the idea isn't bad - especially on some of the models that have a lot of interior detail already in them.
