I noticed FOV has really cut back on the metal and added more plastic from the wave 1 to wave 2 vehicles. My German halftrack is sooo flimsy, pieces were breaking off just getting it out of the box and testing the movable parts. It weighs about 1/3 the weight of my M16 halftrack. This is my 3rd 2nd wave vehicle I have been dissapointed with. I guess FOV is trying to cut costs by making them cheaper. Both German PzIV's are also alot more delicate than any of thier 1st wave vehicles and NO suspension!! I like to game with them so I'm afraid I will pass on any further FOV vehicles.

Is the T-34 considered in Wave 2? In my opinion, this vehicle ranks as one of their better tanks! The upper hull and turret are metal, with plastic hatches, lower hull, wheels and accessories. Its still got more metal than a 21c Cold Steel vehicle! Perhaps, however, quality isn't consistent...

I would bet it is a design thing rather than cost management. I agree with Tman in that the T-34 is solid, hefty and well designed. The M26 is also a nice piece but the running gear is lousy. The German halftracks are too delicate in my opinion*. But I imagine they are trying to achieve a level of detail, so the fragility is the cost of that. Meanwhile, I picked up the AAV and the Paladin. They are heavy, decent, if not excellent, in the rolling catagory and even though they are not the "enthusiast" grade, the details and paint work are excellent. I would rather pay half the price and have a vehicle with out the "sticky" brown weathering that FOV seems to use to excess on the more expensive tanks.

* I had to surgery on my German halftrack as the steering gear was installed upside down. It was pretty tough owing to the delicate parts involved.

I would go with 21st C all the time. Although the FoV Tigers would be good for staic positions, ambushes, etc. And of course FoV has a broader range of choices than 21C. To me the FoV were like an ex girlfriend, looked beautiful but didn't work very well....
