I was just putting my new 1/48th scale Mustang C away, looked at the B model... NO CANOPY?!?! Do they come without or did mine miss the package? Is anyone else collecting the small stuff? I picked up the first run of the Mess & Stang, working on the 2nd wave but haven't seen the 3 rd plane from either wave??

The S1 1:48 P-51B (in the OD cammo) has the canopy, but it is stored elsewhere in the box. The S2 P-51 B/C also comes with "blown" canopy installed and has the B type canopy in the box.

I am not sure what/which 1/48 scale airplanes you are talking about here....as usual, I probably missed something, somewhere. Please elaborate a bit more regarding the who/what/when/where. Thanks very much.

These are the new 1:48 21c aircraft. They currently have two later variants of the BF-109 and two early variants of the P-51. A P-40 is slated to come out sometime. The first series came out over the summer and the second wave came out within the past month. They are all very well detailed and have optional-position landing gear and canopies. Both planes have some movable control surfaces as well. No figures, however. Here are some pictures of the paintschemes for the first and second waves:
First Series: P-51B & Bf-109G-10:
Second Series: P-51B/C & Bf-109K-4:
I think the pictures might be of the paintmaster models, but the actual planes look nearly as good

The first wave, at least, has seen pretty good coverage across the country.

I just found these planes in NJ yesterday. I was at the check out when I noticed the canopy was missing on the green P51. The lady at the register was more than glad to open up the box and look for the canopy. I suggested it may be under the bottom side and we looked there and there it was. Excellent. Keep in mind this was done with a line of holiday shoppers behind me all doing the impatient "Jerseyites waiting in line grunt"...
