1:72 diorama help - What to use?
What's everyone use for diorama's in 1:72 scale?
What do you use for buildings? I know there's a few things out there that are labeled 1:72, but it doesn't seem to be a lot. Do you use HO scale?

I've used some of the small FOV accessories, but the site www.build-a-rama.com will probably more than satisfy your needs for 1:72 diorama accessories

I'm gonna go out on a limb here and say no. HO scale is 1/87th so I should think most HO scale stuff is going to look a bit "stunted" in comparison to 1/72nd vehicles and such. Maybe somebody else who has actually tried using the two scales together can add some info to this discussion??Do you use HO scale?

HO scale is noticeably smaller than 1:72 scale, as mentioned above HO scale is 1/87. You can still use them, they will just look small compared to the 1:72 tanks and figures (door ways, windows, etc.).ostketten wrote:I'm gonna go out on a limb here and say no. If you want to make a diorama, there are many companies that make 1:72 scale house facades to be used with dioramas. There are alot of companies though so depending on what type of building you want would depend on which companies to point you to.

I have a couple Conflix buildings in 1/72 scale, and I really like them. They're pre-assembled and painted. No muss no fuss. I forget who I ordered them from, but you might want to look on Ebay, as well as using a search engine.
Here are a few photos of mine.

One is their Ruined House, the other their Ruined Villa. Be careful, they have a couple of 15mm scale items. Make sure what you order is the 25mm scale.

If at first you don't succeed, try, try again. Then quit. No use being a damn fool about it.

Foxhole has a pretty nice selection of the Conflix pre-painted stuff which looks very nice, the stuff is not cheap mind you, but it appears to be top quality... http://store.foxholetoys.com/coprdi.html I might have to get a few of these myselfI'm looking to do a European city scene, anywhere from France to Russia. When I search for 1:72 scale buildings, I don't have a lot of luck.
Any sites/dealers that would have a good selection?

The closest scale to use with 1/72 is OO, it's 1/76 I think, it is very close.worldwar2buff wrote:What's everyone use for diorama's in 1:72 scale?

Maybe I'm not looking in the right place, but I did not see anything at the Hobbymaster site relating to OO scale buildings or accessoriesThe closest scale to use with 1/72 is OO, it's 1/76 I think, it is very close.

The US 105mm and German 88mm guns both look incredibly detailed for 1/72nd scale models, very impressive.

I wasn't referring to anything Hobby Master makes, I was just letting him know that OO is about the closest he will get if he looks at any model railroad scenery.ostketten wrote:Maybe I'm not looking in the right place, but I did not see anything at the Hobbymaster site relating to OO scale buildings or accessoriesThe closest scale to use with 1/72 is OO, it's 1/76 I think, it is very close.:

Below are a few links to 1/72 buildings (1/72 = 20mm in the wargaming world). Dozens of companies out there make 1/72 diorama accessories/buildings but this will at least give you an idea of what's available.
