Armour Collection to Offer an F-13 Monoplane

Through a little investigative work, we've learned that <b>The Franklin Mint</b> will, among other subjects, offer a Junkers F-13 monoplane as part of their 2007 range. The Junkers F.13 (also known as the F-13, and developed under an engineering designation of J 13), was an all-metal transport German aircraft that first flew on June 25, 1919.
It was the world's first all-light metal civilian plane, which was widely exported to many countries. Within Germany, the F-13 flew with a Junkers airline and later Lufthansa after a corporate merger. It saw active service until the 1940s. About 330 were built with many variants including different engines and a seaplane variant...

Hi Aferg,
I would agree but the last two lines in the text are critical. By choosing a plane that was exported to many different countries, they've essentially added depth to the title. And, the fact that variants were produced, including seaplanes, means you'll see some interesting selections, both in civilian and military liveries. While its very Euro-centric, I think it was a good choice.
I'd like to see a Japanese Betty, Arado 234, Do-17 and Ju-88 among others, but this is a good start.

very surprising there hasn't been a ju 88 yet. That's a plane that seems to get overlooked alot but it was such a major player in the war.
My trick knee tells me Admiral has one of those in store for us one day in 1/18. Don't know why i say that but i just think it.

They could make a lot of different variants with the Ju-88

yes, yes they could...including a 'mistel' to piggy back a 21c me-109 on.

I would LOVE to have a JU-88!!! I think that it might fit in one of my curios. The B-25 just fits - the Marushin "Betty" is a totally different story.

Careful Aferg. If they make a Mistel they would have a good excuse to make a Folke Wolf 190A!

actually....(here i go again).....the only operational Mistels that saw combat flew with 109F's as the parasite plane, using Ju-88A's as the bomb. The Mistels with Fw-190's never saw action and were used only on the training versions, they flew with Ju-88G's.

Aferguson should you put a sticky for the Ju-88 from AT in the 1:18 scale forum?
We could dub it as a speculation sticky.

corgi just made two 1/72 Ju88As for this year.
