New William Britains

Hello,

I was wondering how much interest there was in the metal toy soldier companys (William Britain, Conte, K&C etc). I like the FOV vehicles but sometimes the figures don't seem up to par.

Britains has some new WWII figures out that are much better than some of the previous releases when they were under RC2/ERTL.

They also have a large number of releases in the Revolutionary time frame as well. I'm not sure how much interest there is in that time period though.

Conte has a number of gorgeous and unique Revolutionary War figures: http://www.conteco.com/TheStore/Rangers ... nsHome.htm

for me the latest w britains stuff is indeed much better than it was and some of the pieces are now close to contes standard.

sadly i stopped collecting them at about 50 1/32 vehicles , conte playsets etc etc i simply have no room for them and so it 1/72 all the way for me.

The Britains stuff is beautiful and definitely way above FOV in detail and quality, but you do pay the price for the difference. I wish I could afford some.

I saw K@C has a Flakpanzer 38(t) coming out in 1/32....I almost went for the Grille 15cm SPG...and and They have a Hummel in 1/32 coming! But the price.....Oh the price and they are real static models. not much for moving parts...unlike FoV which is why I love them.

that and the Hetzer and a few other AFVs have me looking.

Figures are so-so. Too Toy like IMO, Dragon's 1/35 Figures Can.dos and the Gen2 are still the best of the best.

Takara also makes some really nice 1/35 guys very similar to Dragons 1/35. They are harder plastic so little pointies can snap off easier (unlike dragon, which has a little bit of play) but they are nice and I got an entire squad of germans and squad of US for $4.00 per fig. they came in little boxes similar to cando and other small japanese type toys except you could tell from the box which figure you were getting. No blind box.

Whoops, I mean Tamya, not Takara, it is their masterwork finished model series. Nice stuff. They fit in nicely with my 1/32nd stuff.
