Announcing The Motor Pool Contest
With summer fast fading into the sunset, we thought now would be as good a time as any to announce our first ever contest. For all you customizers out there, you might want to set down your paint brush and listen up.
Beginning September 1st and ending October 31st, we'll be accepting image submissions of a customized 1:35 scale Minichamps military vehicle, painted up any way you see fit, provided it bears some resemblance to a vehicle that fought in WWII, Korea, Vietnam or either of the Gulf conflicts. Modifications can be added, so long as the vehicle bears some resemblance to its original state. In other words, dont turn a T-34 tank into a Tiger I tank like they did for "Saving Private Ryan" but we will accept product upgrades such as an Ersatz Panther tank made to look like a US M10 Wolverine.
Please do not send us the finished vehicles. Simply send us a photo with a time stamp and one with you alongside your work of art. Sometime in November, we'll judge the photos and announce the winners!
And now for the prizes. The Grand Prize winner will get a free Unimax 1:16 scale Michael Wittmann Tiger I tank, valued at $400. Second prize will get one of the upcoming 1:35 scale Minichamps tanks (British Centurion, T-72 or 2nd issue M60A1 Patton tank) when they finally come out, valued at $80, and third prize will get a whopping 1,000 points added to their frequent shopper point tally. Winners must foot the bill for shipping so we can open this contest up to our customers located abroad.
So, with that said, good luck, and may the best tanker win!
