Guys I thought a lot about all the new scales, and product announced for this year. Heck all of it isn't even announced yet! Well, the introduction of new scales and pricepoints, as well as the demand for certain vehicles sparked my imagination and detective wit. So without further ado, here are my predictions for here on out to next year.

For 1/32 scale:($14.99 pricepoint)

1-Avenger
2-Hellcat
3-MIG-15
4-F-86
5-Fury(Navy Sabre)
6-P-38
7-BF-109
8-New Mustang(P-51D to take into account the new tool 1/18 Mustang...only scaled down)
9-Shinden
10-Wildcat
11-Tony
12-P-51B
13-P-39 Airacobra
14-Razorback P-47
15-(MAYBE WWI Biplanes)
16-Dauntless

I listed the above releases due to popularity, demand, feasibility of manufacturing, and size(most are similar in size). The Fury being a very easy repaint/retool of the F-86. In general most of the requested planes are more likely to end up in 1/32 before 1/18 scale in order to test the waters(this is my assumption). Since a Hellcat was released in 1/144 scale we know its on 21st's mind. They also know the Hellcat is a very popular bird. All in all I predict that the 1/32 scale line will consist primarily of warbirds and early jets.

1/32 scale ($25.99-$39.99 pricepoint)

1-B-29
2-B-24
3-B-17
4-ME-110
5-B-47
6-P-61

This pricepoint keeps an established scale but also gives fans the bombers they have always wanted, and keeps it the same price as the dogfight sets and 1/18 birds*(since the 1/32 bombers are most likely comparable size wise to the 1/18 mid level fighters such as the Mustang).

I predict that the 1/48 plane will start out with your average plane that will sell very well, and is in demand....for example this is why I think 21st made the P-51B in 1/48 scale. However I think the 1/48 scale will end up becoming a jet line....a line w/2 pricepoints. $9.99 for the smaller sized 1/48 planes and $14.99(the original 1/32 scale pricepoint) for larger planes(modern fighters). The benefit of using and existing pricepoint for this different scale is that prices for thge most part stay consistent. So here is my prediction list for 1/48

$9.99 pricepoint:

1-P-51D
2-Hellcat
3-Wildcat
4-A-4
5-Harrier
6-Skyray
7-MIG-17
8-A-7
9-F-86D Dogsabre

$14.99(or $14.99-$25.99 pricepoint dependent on size):

1-MIG-21
2-F-4B
3-F-8
4-A-6
5-MIG-29
6-Su-27
7-SU-30MKI
8-F-14A
9-F-15E
10-F-15C
11-F-4E
12-MIG-29K
13-F-5E
14-A-10
15-Tornado IDS
16-Tornado ADV
17-Tornado ECR
18-F-105D
19-F/A-18F
20-F-104
21-F-100

At 1/48 scale, the largest of these jets clocks in a bit over 1ft n 1/2. I think it is possible to stuff one of these partially disassembled into an existing 1/32 XD scale box(the one presently used for the 1.32 scale warbirds). With regards to landing gear, I think that the 1/48 scale warbirds will stick primarily with swappable landing gear, however the jets will contain functional landing gears. The larger physical size may have enough room in order to do so. This is one of the most cost efficient pricepoints to introduce for modern fighters, keeping them at a satisfying size to play with, while keeping them at a good cost and great level of detail.

I also think an introduction of stands and diorama crew(as in carrier officers and the like) may be possible in 1/48 scale as well.

Let me know your thoughts! I carefully placed these in pricepoints that already exist, so I was being realistic with regards to price and all. Hopefully at least some of these make it out next year.

BTW I did buy a 1/48 P-51B recently as well as my FIRST 1/32 Mustang not too long ago, so as you can tell I have gotten my feet wet and added 1/32/48 to my 1/18 collecting frenzy! :D
