I was informed by Hobby Bunker that both Humvee versions (Desert Storm & Operation Iraqi Freedom) have been retired. Can anyone confirm this?

According to our latest info from the manufacturer, both 1:32 Humvees are indeed retired. According to our inventory report, we still have a few of each in stock, if you're interested. Unimax is supposed to announce their 2007 lineup in October, so there's a good chance that a new version will be offered if both of the previous issues are sold out. If they do plan on offering a new version, there's no telling when it will be made available.

I try to keep a list of retired products from FoV. At least as far as WWII goes. It looks like they have retired most of 2003s line up. This is King Tiger, Tiger, Half-Track(AA), Matilda, Stug, Sherman, Strumgeschutz, Jeep, and the Axis motorcycle (Russian Front). Note all of these are the 1st versions, Enthusiast grade.

I may be wrong here so if Lightning or someone could back me up (or shoot me down) that would be nice.

I was really sad to see the Bike go as I have yet to find one. (sniff sniff)

Hey Lightning did you find it odd they retired the "Zundapp KS750 Motorcycle w/ Sidecar"? Did it not sell well or something? I don't recall it being out all that long. Oh well, maybe I'll come across one someday.

Odd? Odd is retiring the brand new 1:72 scale assortment just days after it came out. That's odd. Apparently the assortment is being re-mixed so that other vehicles can be added although we're not sure about the compostion of the new assortment. Time will tell...

I think they're retiring older vehicles so that new versions can be brought in to replace them at some point while not carrying over excess inventory of the earlier versions. So, you probably wont see the new King Tiger until one of the earlier ones have been sold off. Cant say I blame them. Who wants to stock four versions of the same item? I agree the first zundapp was quite nice, but the second one is equally nice. Who knows, maybe the third one will be even nicer!

On a different matter, I've spent most of the day downloading a demo of Company of Heroes, a real-time strategy game set in WWII. Its supposed to be quite good and the graphics look awesome. I'm using a cable connection and the thing is supposed to be finished in eight hours! Talk about huge demos!

If you go to your local book store they should have the PC Gamer with the demo on the disk. $8 or so.

The game is great! I've played it for a couple of hours now (the demo).
Be warned as the demo uses the Beta code and thus needs high system req. to play it. A final Demo should come out 1st week of next month. PM me if you need help.

I had not heard about the 1/72 thing..as I don't collect them. That is odd. But so is 21st making every scale known to man.

Would it be safe to say that the Action Series versions of the vehicles listed have been retired as well?

You can add 80001 to the list as well. Just got word from FOV its no longer available.

In regard to the action series, no it would not be safe to assume that the comparable action grade products have been retired. The manufacturer only informs us about the enthusiast grade products, so its possible the action stuff is still available. Guess you'd have to write the manufacturer to see if they're willing to discuss the action stuff with you.

I got my list today as well from the manufacture. not only is the 2nd series of 1/72 vehicles retired but the 1/72 soldiers are retired as well.

2nd series, correct me if I'm wrong, are they the tiger, king tiger, bradley and the challenger II?
If so then I will buy a couple before my local shop run out of stock.

No problem. BTW, the manufacturer claims they'll be available again in early 2007, so it may not pay to spend an arm and a leg getting them since they're not technically sold out. Just back ordered until they're re-introduced.

Based upon our own sales, here's how they rank in terms of popularity:

- Grant
- Su-122
- T34/85
- M3A1 halftrack

The whole assortment is selling well, so its not like there's a dog in the assortment that prohibits bringing them in as assortment packs. Of course, open stock would be better going forward considering the depth and breadth of new 1:72 scale vehicles expected to hit next year...
