Looks like the 1/32nd armor lineup is getting another new addition - the King Tiger with the Porsche turret. :D

I do wish that they would put the full skirting on the sides instead of having a piece missing here and there. If they are going to have them missing, there should be some other battle damage also. Put a dent here and there are a crinckle in some of them. I sent them an email about it a long time ago and actually got a reply. They said it was battle damage but the rest of the tank is spotless.

Cool piece but what bothers me is that it is made by many companies in many scales and there were a total of 50 produced? :? I never understood the draw of pieces that are more novelty than anything else.
At least we know the repaints are limited to 50. :P

It's interesting to compare the quantities of any produced scale model and the really tank. What would be this relation in case of Shermans or T-34s, and what in case of Porsche King Tiger or... Maus?

The Tiger II(p) survived to serve later into the war post Normandie where the majority of were committed. 490ish Tigers II were built, Most Henshel, with the first fifty or just fifty using the Porsche turret which had a Panther style shot trap and an cupola that weakened the side armour of the turret.

Those side skirts didn't last long, as all skirts pretty much got banged up pretty bad from Battle, Travel and other hazards along the way.

I think FOV 1/72 Tiger II is a Porsche style from the website.
