Wow! 21C sure is making the most of their existing molds. lol But this is a great addition. Hope the blade and mounts are detatchable so you can buy two and essentially have two more sherman versions.

I am surprised they have not offered a Sherman with the Cullin Device(hedgerow cutter) mounted up front. That would be a clever aftermarket piece to sell to add to your Shermans.

The dozer blade Sherman is definitly a cool version. I cant wait to get one...

On the good news - an M4 with an M1 Dozer blade! On the bad news - the blade is on the same crappy M4 - no corrections to the mistakes (completely incorrect front hull shape due to oversize driver hatches, later suspension on early tank).

For the fellow who wanted a DD - that would require all new molds for the upper hull (US DDs were M4A1s and the British conversions were M4A4 and M4A2) PLUS all the DD gear (changed idler, propellers and their drives, the screens with struts, commander's steering platform, etc).

Speaking of 21C tanks - anybody hear anything new about the M7? Still anxiously awaiting these!

BINGO! That's the one they SHOULD have done IMO. Honestly, I just can't get all that excited about the Sherman with dozer blade, I mean... if I want a bulldozer, I can buy a Tonka toy. What the heck, I guess I'm happy for the guys that want this thing.

Has anyone tried making one the way they were made in the field - with hedgehogs? I ask because I know fov released those rubbery hedgehogs which could be snipped with a scissor and fashioned pretty easy I assume. Might not be a bad little project.

1) the M1 tankdozer kit was a FAR more important development than the few Cullin/Douglas, etc devices used.

2) A far as taking hedgehogs to make your own, try Evergreen Styrene plastic, they have all kinds od structural shapes and you can reproduce the different designs used.

3) For those who don't want to build their own, I can build you some, but my time isn't cheap - they would have to run about $5 each PLUs postage.

I was just reading something this morning about dozers vs. Cullins Device.
Dozers did indeed work the best....but the Cullins kinda got the spot light.

To make your own all you should need are steel I-beams, (Well..1/32 *steel* I-beams) a knife, and some crazy glue.

Looking at the FoV hedgehogs and one of their Shermans...I think the I-beams are too small relative to the tank.

As well it should IMO. The Cullin device was a field expedient, something that was effective, yet put together crudely and quickly in the heat of battle, and thus it is far more interesting to me than a Sherman with a dozer blade mounted on it. I dunno, to each his own I suppose, but I just can't get all that excited about what looks like the offspring of a Sherman mated to a Rome plow.

Its an interesting choice and certainly has an important historical significance for both the ETO and PTO, but sort of reminds me of the 1:18 Pioneerwagon - something not to get all that excited about.

The last 32x vehicles initially OK, but now all the Wal Marts in my area have at least 4 Brumbars and a varrying assortment of the Panzer IV Ds and Stugs still sitting around 8-9 months later. If those don't move all that fast, then what will a tank with a plow do when it shows up by the caseload? The King Tiger with the Porsche turret should do better, but then one can never tell...

I took the one off my stuart. It attaches right to the front of the 21st m4, It bends out ever so slightly in the rear but the pressure keeps it clamped in place. If I remember I may of broken off the two rear clips that held it on the stuart to get it to fit. But hey it looks just like the real deal, looks like 21st placed it there.
