Small Scale Military Headquarters

I registered last summer but never got around to making a post. I have done a new user id as my old one must have been inactivated. Anyway I am kind of new to this part of the hobby. I have been doing 1:6 scale figures for a few years now but am wanting to try my hand at this size. I did models when I was younger and I like the idea of a base unit already being built and me going in and customizing it to what I need,

I am currently interested in buying som 21st century stuff and was wondering about removing the turret numbers etc. to add my own id. How easy is this to do and how do you do it.

Check out the tips and tricks area of the Customs and Mods board. Lots of ideas there that might help you with removal of the existing decal.

You might also check out the Testors(I think) "print your own decal" kits available at most Walmarts in the model/glue/paint area of the toy section.

There are also pre-made decal kits available for sale on ebay and from a number of other creative folks depending on what scale, period and army you are interested in.

All I did to renumber my Panther was paint over the existing numbers and applied new numbers using decals from John's Stuff. Let me see if I can come up with a halfway decent view.
