I just saw pictures of IXO's armor at The Motor Pool. The one's I looked at were pre-order. Does anyone know anything about these, quality-wise? Comparable to Dragon?

These are labeled as Altaya 1/72 diecast tanks in Europe and are already available in Spain (and easily on Ebay). The quality is not that great, but they do make things not offered anywhere else. The detail is rather soft, the tracks are horrible and some of their releases leave much to be desired.

Compared to other 1/72 diecast tanks they are probably at the bottom in terms of quality, but again they make some things that aren't available anywhere else.

I noticed the list price of $24.95 on the Motor Pool website. Not sure if that will be correct but we'll see. These sell for 9 Euros in Europe which when converted to US currency is much less. I can't see the retail price doubling just because they're now available in the US. They don't compare to Dragon or even Forces of Valor so the pricing will need to be adjusted accordingly for the quality you are getting.

err, ummm uhh

This space was taken up with a rant that was obviously or apparently misplaced and rather than leave it here for all to ponder I have withdrawn it, but am filling the space with this:
It was a commentary on a very badly done M-551 in 1/72 that I am told (see next post) is not/could not be IXO, as I thought it to be ((+: heh heh....

Altaya has never made a Sheridan nor is this range available anywhere other than Spain/Portugal and Ebay at the moment. You must be talking about some other range which I'd like to know who it was if they're making a 1:72 diecast Sheridan.

Well ooops

In that case I don't know what i'm talking about and would delete my post if Tshinti hadn't answered and responded to it. Next time I visit the shop, which is only very occasionally, I will check the manufacturer and let you know. Who makes second rate c1/72 and I'll see if I can find them online or see if any names look familiar.
Well, this is minor embarassing.

But trust me. You don't care who made that Sheridan.

Thanks for the info. I didn't know that IXO was Altaya, as I had seen the Altaya brand in the past, but didn't pay much attention to it. As to "minor embarrassment," one of the purposes of the Forum is to keep us informed. It is tough to keep up with every model and the manufacturer. I mean we all have "real" jobs, uh, don't we?
