I was wondering what the differences are between the two 32x releases.

The differences are very slight... Apart from the paintschemes, the 205 has a modified "chin" under the engine, with two cylindrical intakes added, and the addition of the 20mm cannon barrels on the wings in place of the .30 cal gun on the Macchi 202. In reality there would be a couple other slight modifications, but these have been left out on the 32x example, more than likely to ease the production process. You can easily make out the difference between these two photos from the AREA21 site:

The 32x A6M2 and A6M3 Zeros are also basically the same (even moreso than the Macchis) save that the cowling and paintschemes are different.

I think the Macchi 205 was supposed to have the upgraded version of the Daimler Benz 605 engine, but visually the engine cowlings would be similar. (Think in terms of the Bf-109G in comparison to Bf-109K, the differences are not in the engines but elsewhere in the aircraft).

One of the main differences between the 202 and 205 would have been that the Veltro/Greyhound came into service to replace the Folgore/Lightning around the time of the armistice, hence the co-belligerent Allied markings to replace the Fascist ones.

If you're interested in the history of Daimler Benz engine you'll notice that the Japanese were licensed to produce a version, which featured in the Kawasaki Ki-61 Hien ("Tony"), very unusual to have an inline engine given the alleged superiority of the radial engine in the Pacific theatre climate. (The Ki-61 proved to be quite effective as a high altitude interceptor in comparison to other fighters).

I think that the versions produced of the 202 and 205 are both quite impressive.
