32X Aircraft Playset Question

Post by vmf214 » Mon Mar 27, 2006 5:35 pm

I recently saw 2 playsets which included the Brit P-40 and the trop 109. I'm pretty sure the P-40 was "GAG" but isn't the production plane "GAF"?. Yellow 4 was the regular release trop 109 and iaw BC's site their pick of the set "Ready Line" shows the 109 to be yellow 1. If already covered this topic...sorry. :D

Well just got back from WM and answered my own question. Brit playset "Messian, Montgomery on the Prowl" does have fuse markings GAG and so depicted on the box. The 109 set "North Afrika, Ready Line" although depicts yellow 4 on the box infact has yellow 1 inside. ALSO on the P-40 the tiger teeth are different. GAF has 2 long upper teeth whereas GAG has 2 long lower teeth. Glad 21st did this as it makes for a better diorama having different aircraft markings. Hopefully they continue with the aircraft sets, a T-bolt or 262 set would be cool. For $16.96 each, what the heck. :D

Yes, there was a desert RAF P-40 scheme for the 32x version. The boxed one was a smaller version of the 1:18 RAF P-40, while the plane included in the playset had different lettering.
