Small Scale Military Headquarters

Who here collects 1:72 scale soft-plastic figures? Which era is your favorite to collect & in your opinions which company puts out the best figures over-all & why?

Do you collect Dragon prebuilts & others to display with your unpainted figures or do you also paint the figures to match?

Lastly, what do you think about larger "prebuilt" (not necessarily painted though) diorama pieces for displaying/playing with your micro soldiers?

Since I'm mostly in WWII, I use/have WWII figures. I use more metal than plastic, but the plastic figures I prefer come from Caesar and Pegasus.

I started out collecting 1/72 WWII plastic soldiers about 7 years ago. I would say some of the Airfix sets are pretty darn good (Afrika Korps, 8th Army Desert Rats to name a couple. I also think the Revel figs are good too, US Marines and US Paratroopers are nice. As Tshintl mentioned, the Pegasus figs are really good, and I also like the Esci re-releases from Italeri (Panzer Grenadiers, US Troops). I haven't had a chance to check out IMEX's Korean War releases yet (US troops could double as WWII). Anyway just my 2 cents, and I do plan on painting up a few of them to display with my Dragon, Matchbox and soon to come Admiral Toys Panzer III. Bravo, if you haven't already heard of this site, it's got tons of reviews and pics of most of the 1/72 soft and hard plastic sets out there.

I've been collecting 1/72 scale figs since I was a kid. Now I'm selling them. 1/72 is in it's new "Golden Age" as many are jumping on the band wagon. Soft-plastic figs have come along way and I agree with you both that Caesar Miniatures and now Pegasus have set new standards!

Have you seen the Pegasus D-Day Rangers set yet? One word..."UNBELIEVABLE!" And their snap-together Higgins Boat with crew & soldiers is pretty awesome, as well!

Hey Bravo, I checked out your site, nice graphics, has a good feel to it! I'll be checking it out more, when you add more stock. And yes, I have seen the new Rangers...wow! Quick question for you, on the site that I had forwarded to you, they mention when glueing the Pegasus figs together you need a certain type of glue to get the parts to stick, I just bought the Waffen SS set #2 and was wondering if you had assembled this kit yet, and if so, what did you use for glue on the figs? Thanks!

Thanks for the compliments easy!

We used your run of the mill super glue. Nothing fancy and the reason was this; we didn't expect to have to glue anything together when we first got the sets. We simply had some super glue around and thought, "hey, why not?"

The pointed tip on the bottle and the clear after set makes it a great product to use.

What other sets or products would you like to see on our site easy? We still have many more items in stock that we need to list. We opened March 1 and still have a lot of work to do and loving it.

Great, I wondered if superglue would work, thanks for the tip! As far as what to stock, I really like the fact that your are offering 1/72 figs...and would like to see any 1/72 scale accessories that might be available, like, sandbags, building kits, etc. I haven't really looked to see what is out there for these types of things, as I don't wargame with my 1/72 scale stuff, but am looking for things to create dioramas with my prebuilt armor and figs. Also, there is a new line of prebuilt 1/72 scale aircraft and armor from Trumpeter/MRC/Easy Model, that are all plastic. They are nice little pieces for a great price and they offer planes/tanks you don't normally see from most diecast companies like Corgi or Dragon. The tanks haven't shown up here in the US that I know of, but if you guys could offer them, I know they would be hot sellers! Anyway, just my 2 cents. Are you affiliated with the plastic soldier review website?

Great suggestions! We WILL be offering the Trumpeter easy model sets when we get a handle on who can provide us with the best overall price. We try to minimize using distributors to save our customers as much as possible, so we like to set up accounts directly from the source.

Have you seen the "CONFLIX" line of brebuilt detroyed 1/72 scale buildings? Fantastic product line from the UK. We have them listed under the "1/72 Scale Military" category. These are made of durable resin and hand-painted. Some also have removable roof & floor sections. Float me your email address and I will be happy to send you a few different photos. They are spot-on 1/72!!! Great for diorama building!

Wow, not sure how I missed those! They look great! Thanks for the info and pics guys! Bravo, glad to hear you are trying to get the easy model tanks! I'm wanting some of their stuff bad! Are you planning on stocking the Admiral Toys 1/72 scale armor?

We will carry EVERYTHING Admiral Toys! In fact, we just added the new categary for them today. Jason @AT says that the 1/72 line is still a couple of months away. He also said they will break into the 1/32 scale aena with an all plastic (to save on cost) vehicle & aircraft line consisting of "adversary 2-packs". Can't wait for those, as well!

For the Conflix photos on the site click on the item and then continue to click on the phots for a very close-up view. This works on all of our listed items, or should anyway.
