O.K., so you’ve read about the new Ruskies. Like me, you thought that was it, right? NOBODY was expecting anything else on dat train. Well, folks, we’ve been ambushed. TSSD AND Barzso Toys worked together in secrecy to produce an entire playset to accompany TSSD’s new figures.

STALINGRAD.

I’ve only seen pics of this baby, but the pics look great. New Ruskie figures. Winter Germans in field grey and camo white. A Russian Village with a Russian Orthodox church, a barn, a farm house, and a ruined building (the church knocks my socks off). A graveyard. A Russian Mortar. A German Nebelwerfer. And accessories like a donkey cart and weapons. WOW. Blows me away. Ron left out armadillos this time, however.

What I particularly love about this project is the willingness of two major manufacturers to work together to produce a product like this playset. What a wonderful affirmation of fraternity. Ron, Deanna, and Nick sound like they had great fun together creating their opus. Very promising for the future. This road’s gotta lead to more toy soldiers and more imagination! Thanks, guys. Now I have to believe there will eventually be more Ruskie poses. Nick hints they will even consider more add on sets.

If somebody can tell me how to post photos, I’ll be happy to.

TSSD=Toy Soldiers of San Diego owned by Nick & Deanna. The TSSD website has pix of the buildings, accessories, German, and new Russian troops. Very nice playset box. TSSD's new WWII troops are some of the best with Conte's. Ron Barzo makes the best resin accessories. Should go great with your FOV 1/32 Russian front tanks and stugs. Link is below.
