Small Scale Military Headquarters

Hi,
Dragon just announced a new 1:72 scale Sturmtiger that was "captured" by US forces (#60233). Comes with a decorative base and two figures and its up on the Dragon USA site. Just wondering what everyone thought about it?

Another "gimmick" to sell more of the same old armor already released. The only worth while thing about it is the two US infantry figures (which knowing Dragon, will release the figures in several different paint schemes over and over down the road anyway). From the different forums I visit, seems alot of people are getting annoyed with Dragon Armor and some have simply stopped buying their products all together.

Only 18 Sturmtigers were ever made, why does Dragon have to re-release a re-release of a release.....

This doesn't excite me much. It is a re-tread with a couple of U.S. soldiers instead of German. I would not purchase this, although I do like the soldiers.

The first thing that struck me was why isnt this another entry in the CyberHobby line? It has all the typical nuances associated with CH releases, such as a paved display base and figures. Anyway, I'm still not sure why they have such a love affair with the same old vehicles time and again (Sturmtiger, Jagdtiger, Ferdinand/ Elefant, etc.) when everyone keeps needling them for new stuff. Strange...

I'm a lot moreexcited at the prospect of Panzer IVs and halftracks. Are any of these rumors true Lightning? The Nashorn and Hummel is the right way to go for Dragon along with some Allied tanks. My humble opinion.

The Dragon Armor halftracks are very nice in the pictures. Can't wait to get my hands on a dozen or so of them and pack each one with crews and stowage. Agreed about Allied armor, more of it and a wider variety of German tanks.

Weird they go for the tanks that were made in very limited numbers, and completely ignore the most common tanks like the Panzer IV variants.

The halftracks are definite since we know of two in the hopper unless Dragon changes its mind ( the Grossdeutschland camo scheme and the early war feldgrau version with the early Balkenkreuz). The Panzer IIIs and IVs are still conjecture at this point. Seeing as how they already made a Pz IV chassis for the SP guns, I think it only makes sense that we'll see them.

I think the best means of evidence is to exame their 1:72 scale kit line since new products seem to appear there first before they transition to fully assembled vehicles. For instance, there are five Jagdpanzer IV L/70s announced in that line so I think it would be logical to presume that these same molds are being developed for the 1:72 Armor line. N'est pas?

It appears that Cyber-Hobby's golden era of the Carius Tiger and other tank Aces and elite units has passed...(for the time being)

They would do well to re-ignite the passion with a Barkmann Panther, or another Tiger Ace.
