Has Dragon released any new 1/35 armour ?
Don't think that Dragon has released any new armour in 1/35 for a few years now.
Shame, as think their line was really great, although limited.
With FoV apparently on life support, and given that their later armour releases were not up to the same standard as their earlier stuff, seems like options for pre built 1/32, 1/35 are almost non existent.
Have one Minichamps, but not a fan of their paint. The model is heavy, but don't like the finish on them.
So, has Dragon given up on 1/35?
And if so, doesn't really leave anybody doing the larger scale armour.

Re: Has Dragon released any new 1/35 armour ?
My last visit to HobbyTownUSA was this past Monday, and they had quite a few FOV pieces. Granted, nothing was new, but they were in new boxes and some of the included crap was a different mix.
But then again, I don't know how long that had been sitting in the store.
All of the Dragon items were 1/72. From their website, it looks as though they haven't done 1/35 since May 2009, when they put out the 54cm mörser Gerat 041.
Like the Trumpeter/Easy Model 1/72 thing, some of these guys decided to stop shelling out for a room full of kit builders and concentrate on selling unbuilt kits.
There still seems to be some available online, but as they all are retired they are a little pricier than the current crop of FOV and its all stuff you already have, i.e., Tiger, Panther, Elefant, King Tiger. And the Elefant is missing the zimmerit, so there's that.

Re: Has Dragon released any new 1/35 armour ?
Thanks CplSlade,
That is what I figured.
I do miss quality larger scale armour, and seems to be on hold, at least for now.
Quick question. Are you saying that Dragon had kit builders doing these pre assembled models from their line of unassembled kits?
Think this would be very labour intensive, and the price seems to indicate more of a production line.
Love my Dragon 1/35's, and the older FoV were very good too.

I was only partly serious, but obviously they were paying someone to assemble them. And whoever was doing it was doing a pretty decent job from the ones I saw up close, but apparently more people want to build them rather than buy them assembled.

Pretty good job, for sure.
Actually the best, by almost a country mile.
Love my older FoV, but the Dragon stuff is just better.
Shame I can only get what I have. Panthers. Tigers, King Tigers, etc.

Seems like there is a new Elefant on the market?

No, that model was released in 2007.
There were two others released later, both from Poland but one is in whitewash and the other in tri-color camo.

Oh ok, well maybe they reissued these? The reason I say that is if you do a search for Dragon Armor 1/35, there are a bunch of this same Elefant that pop up.[CAT]CplSlade wrote:No, that model was released in 2007.

Weird - I just did a search and only got four hits, one of which is the one you link to. Most of the online stores like the Motorpool are sold out of all versions.
Anyway, if you're going to get one this is the cheapest at the moment:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/61004-1-35-Drag ... 3cfcf4835f
DO BEAR IN MIND THESE DRAGON ELEFANTS HAVE NO ZIMMERIT!!! THE ELEFANT HAD ZIMMERIT!
THE FOV ELEFANT DOES HAVE IT.

Well thats an odd oversight on Dragons part. Either they should've made the Ferdinand with no zimmerit or made the Elefant with zimmerit.[CAT]CplSlade wrote:Weird - I just did a search and only got four hits, one of which is the one you link to. Re: Has Dragon released any new 1/35 armour ?
Well, Dragon's Armor series are based off their plastic kits and their first kit had no zimmerit because most modelers were doing their own with putty or whatever back then. Later kits had zimm built in once they figured a good way to replicate it but by then I think the Armor line was discontinued.
My Dragon Elefant received its zimm courtesy of aftermarket PE brass plates made for it specifically. I don't even think the new Tamiya Elegant model has it (Tamiya likes to sell all that stuff extra).
