i read they had fantastic customer service but i'm not seeing it. I purchased 2 seperate items from them last week, each about a day apart.
After 3 days i heard back on the first one that they didn't have it and they refunded my payment.
It's been 5 days on the second item and i've heard nothing at all, but the item i ordered is no longer listed on their site.
anyone have good experiences with them?

For future reference to anyone that purchases from Airspotters.com i will update my status. After about 4 weeks i am still getting the run around. Seller claims to be waiting for replacement item yet it never seems to arrive. Has not answered my latest email for 2 days. Seller seems to list a lot of items for sale that they don't actuallly have in stock (i was 2 for 2).......so at the very least they are guilty of sloppy inventory control. Communication has been terrible. Days went by after i ordered and i heard nothing. It was not til i emailed them 5 days later that i found out they needed to order a replacement unit. Several days went by again and no updates. So i emailed again. Several more days pass and no updates. I am tired of chasing them around and believe they are simply stalling, in the hopes of keeping my money. How they stay in business i will never know.
I have run out of patience and filed a Paypal claim against seller.
Edit. 5 minutes after i opened the Paypal claim i heard from them. Amazing. Usually takes 2 days or more to hear back when i email them. Anyway, the refunded me in full and sent me a long email asking why i didn't just contatct them, that they are friendlly people etc. BTW, the latest story was that the replacement unit they were waiting for got lost in the post.

This is why I don't buy things from outside the US, unless it's from HLJ in Japan.

well, other than airspotters i've had nothing but fantastic experiences buying outside the US....in fact some of my worst experiences have been from US etailers. In general, UK, Germany, Hong Kong/China i've had superlative service. HLJ i find very slow and cumbersome to deal with. I usually receive stuff i order from the UK within 5 business days. Europe is about 7 business days. Hong Kong is usually 10 days to 2 weeks. HLJ it's usually about 3 weeks and China 2 to 4 weeks depending whether it comes EMS or China Post.

This is an example of varying experiences.. I've had nothing but bad luck from the UK, and HLJ usually delivers in about 7 days after I place my order. Most US retailers have been pretty good with a few exceptions that have been posted on here before and I won't name names (cough..TheMotorpool..cough, cough)..lol

that's amazing........7 days for HLJ. Do you select the lowest price shipping option? I think it's SAL.....that's what i use, cause i'm cheap.

I usually use the next up option which delivers it in 7-10 days and it's tracked/insured. I know it costs a little more, but it's also a little peace of mind. And, most of the stuff I order you can't buy here anyway, so it's a win-win if I sell it and still make a little on the side.
