Small Scale Military Headquarters

For a while I have been acquiring planes from WWII through the present. The planes I have purchased range from 1/40 to 1/32. (There are other scales.) The detail on these wooden planes and choppers is quite good. Any one else collect these? I've gone to some websites and these planes can be very pricey. Fortunately for me I have been purchasing mine at flea markets, toy shows, model kit shows, model train shows, etc., and picked them up for a bargain. If I weren't such a collector/hoarder I could make some money selling them. The great thing is they are light weight, which is great for hanging or they have stands so they display well and there is just such a great variety of all types of aircraft.

I had some of these at one time but have since sold them. A local dealer in a flea market/antique style place sold these and had most available in his store. He sold them for what could be considered the low retail end and he always cut me a break on the ones I purchased.

They were nicely detailed but the problem I had with them (maybe due to the temperature changes here in PA) was cracking around the wing root areas. Every one of the planes I had did this. It was rather disappointing as they were such beautiful models. The vendor I bought them from said this was normal and it appears to be (I've seen many of them in other collections do the same thing) but I eventually went back to the plastic and metal models that don't do this.
